Ayoze Perez, once again speaking fondly of playing for NUFC.

For such a young man it's remarkable that, given he is from foreign shores, he continues to connect with the fans in this way. He could have easily gone missing in games and hidden behind his youth but no... he has the heart of an English CF and the skills of a continental.

He is without a doubt my favourite NUFC player right now on and off the pitch. I cast my mind back to when he first arrived and was spotted at non league grounds watching games. The lad just loves his football.

It's pretty inevitable he will go in the summer but I think he's one of those players who will always have friends on Tyneside and be respected immensely.

With his days on Tyneside numbered I for one am gonna enjoy the remaining games he has with us as it's a rare positive in the current Toon doom and gloom.

Ayoze Perez has responded to speculation over interest from Tottenham and Manchester United by insisting he is happy at Newcastle.
The Spaniard has been one of the few positives for Newcastle this season, with Steve McClaren’s side enduring a miserable start to the Premier League campaign.
The Magpies sit second from bottom in the table, but Perez’s performances up front have received acclaim, with the Spaniard having netted three goals in 12 league appearances.
Manchester United and Spurs have both been linked with a January move for the 22-year-old but Perez insists he is comfortable on Tyneside.
He told the Daily Mail: “I am happy here. I am playing and I am getting better. I cannot ask for anything else because I am happy here.”
After being named North East Young Player of the Year, Perez spoke of his international ambitions.
“I hope one day I can play for Spain, it will be a dream for me,” he said. “But I will have to work hard because I am still young. I have a lot to do to achieve that dream.
“Things have gone very well for me at Newcastle so far and I am really happy to get my award. It is a big pleasure for me. If I get this, it is because I have done something well.”

If we sell this young man then it will tell me everything l already know, but still try to justify about NUFC and its future.
We do not need to "cash in" we do not need the money.
The only reason to part with our future is if he didn't want to be here anymore and l see no evidence of that from this exemplary young man.
Will dissallusionment set in with him, probably at some stage if things don't start to improve pretty sharpish.
I really don't understand why we capitualate every time another club comes sniffing around.
Keep our talent, we found them, we grew them, and concentrate on selling, no, we don't even have to ask for money, just bloody give away the feeble dross that is choking our squad to death.
Please please NUFC get some pride and come out fighting both on and off the pitch.

This young lad is a breath of fresh air compared to the mercenaries we seem to have accumulated lately. He has bags of talent and a great attitude. I'm a huge fan of his. His form has dropped in the last few games and I think he would benefit from being rested for a while though rather than continuing to be dragged down by the utter ****e around him. We can't afford to damage his development like we have with other young players. As for selling him? It would be one of the biggest mistakes of the Ashley era, and that is an amazingly high bar of ****ness to attain.

I don't care for the concept of political correctness but I like ACS's use of the word "continental" as oppose to "foreigner", classy stuff.

Perez is clearly very being well advised on his career in general. Moving to the right club (us over Real Madrid where wouldn't have played); staying here and working hard to improve and not looking to move from the day he signed like many others; saying the right things, etc.

Perez won't be sold in January. Trust me. I'm always right.

I think at those odds I'd be putting £100 on and keeping £400. I don't know the lad but I suspect he's 9/1 in a two horse race for a reason.
