Maureen will **** off if he's not able to spend. Costa looks like he might have one foot out of the door already and the moany one will want a big fat blank cheque to replace him. If he doesn't get it the expect a little bitch fest followed by him leaving.

Chelsea have never had the finances to support themselves. So expect another Roman input. Though I think they have sold most of their decent buy to loan players...

If the rumours are to be believed the Chavs were within 14 days of going into administration before Abramovic bought them off Bates

They were something like £80m in debt when Bates sold the club. The ****s would have gone to the wall if it wasn't for the Oil money.

With all this talk about Vardy's record of scoring in 11 PL games in a row, someone mentioned Messi's record of scoring in 21 la Liga games in a row and I completely forgot about that run he had a few seasons back. 21 ****ing games. Insane.

Whilst I hesitate to knock anything Messi has done, as most of his achievements are not far short of impossible, I would argue that it's harder to score in 11 PL games in a row than it is to score in 21 La Liga games in a row. Especially when you consider Messi had Xavi and co providing him, whilst Vardy is playing at Leicester.

I'm not sure about that - 21 games is impressive anywhere your playing. But I'd say your last sentence is spot on - it's much more impressive to score for 11 games in a row if your a player who was playing non-league 4 years ago and never played at the top level before, and playing for Leicester than for (arguably) the best player on the planet to score in 21 games in a row for one of the best teams in the world.

But saying the above, Messi is exceptional and some of those records including the 21 game streak is ridiculous and incredible and probably won't be surpassed for a generation.

    I wouldn't assume that.

We always think it's harder in the EPL but the stats don't really back that up. Especially considering the Spanish sides tend to get the better of ours in both the Champions League and UEFA Cup.

In Spain there is a bigger gap between the top and bottom teams. There is no doubt that Barcelona play more 'easy' games in a season than any PL team. Still Messi is an amazing player and 21 games in a row is a brilliant achievement in any league. I would still rate Vardy's achievement as highly.

    Adebayor's in the money

Emmanuel Adebayor is still earning a remarkable £175,000 a week despite not playing football, according to the Daily Mail.

The striker was released by Tottenham in September after not being included in their Premier League and Europa League squads but the club are still paying his £100,000 a week wages with his contract not ending until June.

Manchester City are also still 'chipping in' with £75,000 on top due to the 2012 deal that took him to Spurs.

Damn, that guy has got it made! What would be hilarious is if Arsenal signed him up on a free with Spurs and City paying his wages <laugh>

I would agree with Drude. Having the support of Barcelona's players naturally means that you are going to get far better opportunities than you would with Leicester players.

He beat a record held by RVN playing with the probably the best Man U side ever and also players like Henry playing with the best Arsenal side etc.

He and Leicester have been brilliant.

However Messi is still the best player since maradonna and arguably the best player of all time.

Its tricky.. Because there are ALOT of players who have recently played in both leagues and have better scoring percentages in the EPL than Spain.

    Aguero: Spain = 101 in 234 apps vs EPL = 116 in 176 apps
    Diego Costa : Spain = 99 in 254 apps vs EPL = 26 in 53 apps
Alexis Sanchez: Spain = 47 in 141 apps vs EPL = 34 in 70 apps

But then there are some who fair better in Spain (like Bale - although in his case you could argue he was just reaching his best year when he left). Basically my point is this: when you look at how players fair in both leagues and how the teams do against each other in competition the evidence doesn't support the idea that the EPL is superior.

I actually think the leagues are pretty close and Messi's 21 goal run is obviously better than Vardys 12..

My point was more to do with the comparing scoring for Leicester compared with Barcelona, not necessarily which league is easier...

City losing 2-0 against Stoke. Never a better chance to try and go top.
