Nah, that was last season..no wait, it was the season before that. Or it might have been the one before that....
... if we are completely honest with ourselves - we already know how this season will pan out in terms of Europe .... ... Man City will go out to Barcelona in the knock-out stage ... similarly Man United will lose to Real Madrid with Ronaldo scoring the winner - United will however have impressive sideways and backwards passing stats as consolation ... Chelsea will go through each round on penalties and then win the final the same way - because Mourinho has a habit of succeeding at the expense of entertainment ... John Terry will miss the final through suspension but will still lift the trophy fully kitted - as a result of winning the competition whilst finishing outside the EPL top 4, Chelsea will displace the team finishing 4th in the EPL in next season's Champions League ... which ineveitably will be either Spurs or Arsenal ... Arsenal will drop into the Europa League where they will knock Spurs out in a later round ... Arsenal will be so impressive that they will be installed as favourites at that point ... they will then lose heavily at home in the first leg in the following round and win the away tie only to go out on away goals ... Liverpool will flatter until going out to the European eqivalent of Aston Villa .. ... it's written in the stars ... get your accies on
Spuds may get 4th over Leicester, but Liverpool will not get top 4. Spuds team are better then Liverpools
"... 'tis the season to be jolly, tra-la-la-la-la la-la-la-na" Peace and goodwill to all men PS even made the end of the jingle 'scouse relevant' (for the less observant of you)
All joking and wumming aside, I really do think that Arsenal will struggle to come back from their injury crisis, induced by Wenger's Edwardian training methods. I think their spiral down the table could be quite dramatic. Wenger has to get in some really good replacements, in the January window, and they have to hit the ground running.
It would be hilarious if the replacements that Wenger gets in to replace injured players, themselves, get injured! PIXIE would be livid with Wenger!
Nothing wrong with DVDs showing us beating you. It's your lot bringing out a DVD when you scrape a point against us that we laugh at.
PIXIE, do you know if there is a DVD of the match between Barca and Arsenal? You know, the one in which Bendner trips over his own bootlaces, attempting (what would have been) Arsenal's only shot on the Barca goal? I'd buy that DVD. Even though I would feel soiled with every viewing.
Was that the 5-5 thriller? The one in which we made an heroic comeback against all odds? If so, you can understand why fans would want to buy it.
