I took my two boys last night (aged 8 & 5) we sat in the Kingsland/Northam corner.
They learned the most important lesson there is about being a football fan:
You don't always win, but you should never stop supporting.
The rendition of OWTS started when they scored the 5th (73rd minute) and didn't stop until after the players had left the pitch.
My kids sang until their throats were raw and then beyond.
When we were leaving, my eldest said to me "that is most I have ever enjoyed going to the football..."
We usually sit in the family stand and he has seen our rise from league 1 and seen nothing but success and until last night, it had never really clicked for him.
Now he has tasted failure, he is a proper saints fan and will be for life.

 

Agree it was brilliant support, the Liverpool fans seemed quite suprised n didn't know what to do all stood quietly while we singing non stop 5-1 down. Great stuff

On another note does anyone know why away fans aren't told to sit down? I asked a steward (after taking my seat) who threatened to eject me!!

Great morning for me at work , all the plastic Liverpool fans who have been quite for months suddenly decide to come and ask me what was nights score ......

 

We seemed to sign a few small players in the summer - Juanmi, Clasie and Cedric. Perhaps we are trying to go through the opponents legs. New tactic

Thats interesting. From where I was I could only hear Liverpool fans singing. Even when we started something up it was soon drowned out. The only one that bugged me was when they started chanting Lallana's name. That really rubbed it in. Mind you at 5 -1 I kinda lost interest so you are probably right.

 

No you are right as well, they looked shocked at what we were doing but when they did sing a song like the Lallana one or YNWA it did drown out cos our singing was very dispersed with empty seats.

To be fair it's about people taking their chances. On Saturday, Maya blotted his copy book whilst Caulker looked quite good. What must be frustrating for Ron is the individual lack of consistency. That was the first poor game for Cedric IMO. Maya, Tadic, Pelle, Clasie all drift in and out of games.

What confuses me is that Long stepped up well on Saturday yet had to stand aside for the invisible Pelle. JWP IMO would have been a good midfield choice yesterday.

 

He'll be poached by the Liverpool board now. Mods - tie him down to a five year contract!

 

Just tell them it was the same as the Stoke-Liverpool game at the end of last season.
