Karthekeyen will return for Hispania in Germany but for Friday only. (Possibly keeping TATA happy)

I think McLaren are clearly third best, Red Bull and Ferrari will be pretty even for the most of the remaining races in my opinion. However, McLaren's car was massively unbalanced by the regulations last week, and the hot weather they blamed in Valencia won't be a problem so they could be closer to the front. If they're not I'm sure they'll be able to find something else to whinge about. <ok>

Also, McLaren were faster than anyone expected in Spain, so the form guide can be quite erratic without refuelling and the sketchy Pirellis. I'd like to see a few more races where the top three are competitive and the lead changes hands several times throughout a race. The racing's always more exciting when it's the win at stake.

Mixed feelings about the start being moved. A longer run is more uncertain, a shorter run tends to buch them up a bit more and it plays into Red Bull's hands (with their mini-Kers leaving them vulnerable on a long straight).

A bit of isopon and a touch up pen and I'm sure his dad won't notice.

well, the weather report says raining so I've gone for Hamilton sagain, probably foolishly, but he's due a good result and he's one of the best in the wet along with Kamui, Schumacher and Vettel and the McLaren seems the best in the wet by quite a long way.

Oh goodie, less chance of a Ferrari nailing a certain German into the first corner.

Alonso also said Ferrari will need to confirm in Germany that it has also improved its qualifying form, after he finished just a tenth of Red Bull in Britain.

"We'll have to confirm it here. There's no doubt in Silverstone we were a tenth away, but we only had one run and it rained when we were on the second set of tyres. We don't know if they were holding something back and maybe the gap would have been bigger with the second run."

With Saturday expected to be mainly dry, it looks like we'll get the opportunity to see the true pace of these cars in qualifying. Unfortunately the forecast for Sunday looks completely different, so potentially big advantage to Red Bull with their quick tyre warm up. Here are some pics of Ferrari bodywork in Germany:

    Race: Alonso
    Most overtakes: Hamilton
    Fail: Massa
    Good drive:PEREZ

    Your thoughts?

EDIT: By the way, has anyone seen this yet? I hope we don't get more nonsense from the FIA again....

Sounds like bull. Claimed that all teams barring Lotus and HRT had been banned for using illegal race overalls. Virgin then said they'd heard nothing about it. <doh>

Practice about to start. It's a dry track at the moment and Hulkenburg is driving Di Resta's car. With the forecast suggesting rain in second practice, Di Resta should be getting all the dry running he can, just in case qualifying or the race remains dry.

Perhaps he's testing the grip and how easily it locks up?
