Liverpool totally dismantling Saints, 5-1 up with 10 mins to play and yes, Caulker is still on.

Liverpool had 7 shots on target, 6 goals - apart from that Saints keeper had little to do.

Perhaps Caulker will celebrate by going on another bender and embarrassing himself again.

Caulker was awful, wouldn't be surprised if that is his last appearance for the Saints

Unfortunately it would appear we collected no fee for him, other than taking him off our wage bill.

Southampton: Steven Caulker signs on loan from QPR

QPR defender Steven Caulker has signed for Southampton on a season-long loan.

No fee is involved in the deal to bring the 23-year-old to St Mary's.

Premier League rivals Tottenham beat Ronald Koeman's side to Belgium defender Toby Alderweireld, while Romania centre-back Florin Gardos is out injured for seven months.

Caulker, who has one England cap, said: "This club has done fantastically well, especially over the last two years and last season they were fantastic."

He added. "It is something I am proud of and very excited for the season ahead.

"I was delighted to get the opportunity to play under a great manager and the style of football they play is outstanding."

Caulker started his career at Tottenham but has been relegated from the Premier League in the past two seasons with Cardiff and QPR respectively.

Southampton play their first competitive game of the season when they entertain Dutch side Vitesse in the third qualifying round of the Europa League on Thursday.

Executive director of football Les Reed said: "We have tracked Steven for a number of years and so we are very happy to have finally brought him to the club."

With our usual business savvy we are probably paying most if not all of his wages. But we still win as you have to watch him play and have him hanging around the place. Sorry.

What else is new? Truly shocking defender. Can't believe someone on here held it against Ramsy letting him go.

It looked like the chance had gone for Sturridge's first goal when he miscontrolled his first touch, but the striker kept his composure and drilled in a low finish

The manner in which Sturridge turned this tie on its head in the 24th minute was the perfect example of what he gives to Liverpool - when he is available.

The Reds had spent the early stages on the retreat and were trailing to Mane's first-minute goal when a display of Sturridge's natural finishing shifted the emphasis of the game decisively.

He initially looked to have lost control but took advantage of Steven Caulker standing off to show fast feet and send a superb finish flying across Saints keeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

Shouldn't we be talking him up in true Del boy style, although even he would have his work cut out on this

You can talk up a terd as much as you want but at the end of the day, it still looks like a terd, it still smells like a terd and nothing but nothing can outsell that.

I'd be ringing the Salvation Army for a free pick up ........... we might get lucky, Xmas is nearly upon us.
