Diametric opposite to the City game. Fantastic first 20 or so (where you feared because we'd only managed one despite being dominant) followed by a pretty bloody hopeless period after their first.

Ron needs to do a job and get that mindset back that we had at the start (where we looked like we'd win by two or three).

Still not over. Early goal second half and anything can happen.

I think you'll find it's over. I'll sit and watch but I have little confidence in anything changing.

Come out like we did at the start, and it quite easily could.
They're still massively vulnerable from wide and crosses.

Never rated Stekenlenburg, can't remember the last decent save he made.

Both his signing and Caulkers were cheap loan signings and we are suffering now. We should have shown a bit more and signed decent backup goalie and CB

Haha. We are still in it but we need to actually be able to defend for a bit. Our midfield aren't doing anything again.

I'd like to see us revert back three and give license to the whole team to try to press Liverpool off the park. A high press like Chile, but more kamikaze. Liverpool waste so much time in the game with their annoying passing around the back. We might be able to force some mistakes doing it and put them under pressure. It would be a good idea to get Yoshida on for Caulker, but it won't happen. And get Long on. Not exactly sure for who, it depends on the system.

The alternative is just turning the 4231 into a back two and pressing high with Bertrand and Cedric. But it needs to be a really aggressive high press

Lots of people talked Caulker up and said spurs were wrong to sell him but he is really poor imho. He was relegated with Cardiff and then with QPR...was really surprised when you signed him on loan...he is strong and fast (and seems like a genuinely nice bloke) but has no idea about how to play different players...just plays the same way regardless, and he could/should have done better for the first 2 goals. Think the championship is his level...and he is too regularly caught out against prem teams.

Caulker shouldn't be on the park. Yoshida is a better centre back by far. Wanyama is also better centre back than Caulker.

He actually changed to a back three. I'm surprised. I'd like to see Long up top with Pelle, Mane behind them.

Liverpool are inviting crosses. Long in there with Pelle would be dangerous. It's just a question of which player to take off.

The game has passed Clasie by so far - maybe the change in shape will get him in the game more.

Thats a bit harsh on stekenlenenburg. Hes been a solid keeper for us so far. Hes not the most athletic but is generally pretty reliable.

    Agree about caulker though...hes awful.

Maybe we should have had Yoshida playing at right back from the start...:p

He should have been playing right centre back instead of Caulker.
