There had been quite a lot of talk surrounding this young Barca player over the last few weeks, but it's now stopped. I heard yesterday that Bolton are looking to fly him out to America to persuade him to join them.

I'm certainly not telling any of the management their job and I don't know how much he'd cost, but he would be an ideal profile for a back-up striker. Any views on this?

Gossip page has said that Barca will accept £5m - thats an absolute bargain. If we could sign him for £5m I reckon he has the potential to be solde in 5 years time for double if not triple that

He would be a good signing but would he get much playing time?

To be honest, If Bolton are the competition for his signature is he really good enough to play for a team with Champions League ambitions if not title ambitions in the near future? No offence to Bolton intended but.... come on!

All this talk of a back up striker when we have the Dirkster!

£5m for any striker in this current market is nothing, you'd pay more for Carlton Cole and I would put my house that Jeffren will have a better career than him.

If it didn't work out then we don't exactly lose out on much.

This is a clever move by Bolton that will not come off.

They are offering him a shop window in the prem nothing more, a shop window that will gain a few million quid more than they spent if he signs and plays well and subsequently gets sold the following season.

Thats the only way I could see them putting it to him, join us play for us for a year or two, up yer profile in England and get a move to one of the bigger prem clubs and higher wages ect.

Given that he's only made 11 starts in the last 2 years (he made his debut the previous year), and Barcelona tend to reach the final stages of every competition they are in (so lots of chances for him to break into that front 3), what are people basing these opinions on?

Don't know much about him myself, other than he is typically a winger, or 'wide forward' if we are trying to put him into the category of striker, has some tricks and pace and scored against Madrid when they got tanked.

Can anybody who can honestly say they've watched a significant amount tell me what they think, as i have to say it all sounds a bit Football Manager at the moment!

One of my favorite palyers of all time Jay-Jay Okocha played for Bolton and he was pretty good I believe!! Djorkaef wasn't too bad either with that World Cup winners medal, Campo with his Champs league winners medal. They have had some good players in some of those years!

Not to mention Stuart Holden. As long as Evans and de jong don't come near him, he is an excellent player.

Ya, I like Holden, being American and all, but the others had a lot of success and were names I guess before going to bolton. I wish we could have jay-Jay back or someone who could light up the prem like that again.

I mean seriously, how good are you!

At around £5m he'd be a good buy, both business-wise (we could probably sell him for a higher fee than we paid even if he didn't do that well) and football-wise. He can play on a wing as well as up front, and could be handy towards the end of games against tired legs.
