Arsenal have reportedly confirmed that midfielder Santi Cazorla has suffered knee ligament damage.

The midfielder was hurt in the 46th minute of the 1-1 draw with Norwich, but went on to complete the match.

However the Guardian reports that the precise time-frame for his absence is still unclear.

Injury news is getting from bad to worse. IF he is out long term then we'll desperately need Wilshere back soon. Otherwise, we will start looking light in an area that we was heavy in. We should be getting a minimum of 1 player in the winter transfer window, if not 2.

We need Ramsey and Wilshere to step up big time this season, Wilshere especially.

I can't see Wilshere doing much this season - it'll take him until Feb or late Jan at the earliest to get his match sharpness back and any sort of form. Then he's probably going to pick up knocks quite a bit and/or need some periods of rest while he strengthens.

It could well be the time for Ramsey to step up though and put his mark on the team in central midfield - hopefully he grabs the chance with both hands. Then I guess it's Oxo, Campbell and The Jeff on the flanks until Walcott comes back...

I thought Wilshere is coming back soon? It's rather risky relying on just Ramsey as our sole central midfielder. It's looking rather worrying at the moment and Ozil won't get any rest indefinitely.

I think he's supposed to be coming back in the next few weeks - but my experience of Wilshere when he's been out for months is that he is off the pace, and needs to be eased back into the team otherwise he has set backs that keep him out for additional months. Considering that he's missed the majority of the past (what?) two and a half seasons in injury, then it seems reasonable to assume he won't hit the ground running...

I really hope Wilshere can get back to full fitness soon. He's going to need games though to find any kind of match sharpness.
Let hope Carzorla's injury isn't too bad. We can't afford to have him out for long.

I was feeling optimistic about the Olympiacos tie but if Im honest I cannot see us beating them by 2 goals without Cazorla and Sanchez,

Wilshere will have to hit the ground running, which is unfortunate for him. But it's time we get some return from our investment in him and there is no better opportunity he will get, with us having a shout of winning the Prem.

Unfortunatley, much like Walcott he normally needs a while to find some kind of form.

The Coquelin Cazorla axis has been destroyed in a week. This was the partnership that helped us improve in the bigger games and made us even look like a title challenger of some description this season, now we are in danger of falling out of the top four, when you consider what Klopp is doing at Liverpool and how impressive Spurs have been this season. As for Wilshere being a potential light at the end of this very dark tunnel, **** off.

The incompetence from Wenger sometimes baffles me. You knew your player was playing on one leg as you say. Why make the injury worse by keeping him on???

This is ridiculous cos it happens every bloody season, you can't tell me it's bad luck. Injuries keep leaving us in desperate situations. 2 seasons ago we brought in Kim K when we were desperate for a ST to help Giroud, last season we had to recall our Coq when everyone new Arteta was not up to it since the season before. This season it is happening again. This man is not interested in winning the premier league

So that's 3 key players for us out, basically the spine who has made our team excel recently, Coq, Sanchez, and Cazorla.

We can play Ramsey in the middle, but he will be no Cazorla in making some of the killer plays, passes, and controlling the flow of the game, Ramsey brings energy, good defensive work etc, but he is not a maestro like Cazorla.

Well let's see what our squad is made of. Injuries are part and parcel of football, its what the other squad members can do. Lets see what Flamini and Ramsey can do. If there is one crumb of comfort, if these two flop, at least we have the winter transfer market to dip into.
