Don't worry, folks. The English 'spine' will start to emerge in January with the reappearance of Titus Bramble and Nile Ranger...
Willo and Mbemba would make a better partnership than Colo and Mbemba. However, if Willo is back in then we need a new lb as Dummett will get massacred - anyone know if Colo could play there?
It sounds like a joke, but I said a few weeks ago that the only meaningful defensive contribution Colo ever makes is when he corners an opponent on the wing. He is quite good at closing an attack off in that way and winning the ball back. At the same time, Dummett is far better in the centre of defence and not as good as Colo on the ball, so, if 'El Capitan' must be selected, I would prefer they switched positions so we had as much pace at the heart of the defence as possible.
I see that Mbabu is off the injury list. We're almost certainly going to get beat this weekend anyway, so why not shuffle things around and stop playing people who continue to let us down and stop playing people in positions they cannot perform in. I'd drop Colo to the bench, and completely re-shuffle the defence. Janmaat is not a full back. If he has to play in defence then it should be in a wing back formation - but we don't have good enough players to make that work. I'd play Janmaat on the right side of midfield and **** Sissoko out of the team too. Mbemba is our best centre back but he can also play right-back. I'd honestly prefer to see the following defence than see Colo allowed back into the team: ------------------------Elliot---------------------------- --Mbemba-----Willo------Dummet----Mbabu---- It would probably be torn to shreds, but I'd prefer to see that than watching Colo pretend to be a premier league centre back again. If Mbabu isn't fit then I'd play anyone we have who's natural position is left back - even if that means using the under 18s left back. On the off chance it works then we will finally have a left back playing left back and might start to see Dummett starting to get some confidence back. I still think he will make an ok centre-back but he is getting worse and worse the longer he is made to play out at left back and what little confidence he ever had has been destroyed. In midfield I'd like to see: --Janmaat----Colback----Wijnaldum-----Thauvin Sissoko has done nothing to deserve a place in there and I also think Thauvin could benefit from playing on the left and seeing if he can start supplying some balls into the box. Again, I know it's not our best players, but at least we'd have players we know can work hard and maybe will perform as a more balance unit. Up front I'd go for Mitro and De Jong. That might look harsh on Cisse who wasn't that bad last week and did grab a goal - but I don't think Cisse and Mitro would work well together. It might also seem harsh on Perez. I'm a huge fan of Perez but his form has dropped badly in the last few games and he has been poor - even against Bournemouth where he grabbed the only goal. The kid needs to be dropped and allowed the space to get his form back in training/reserves. De Jong has quality but hasn't shown it yet due to injuries. I think it's time to stick him in the team and see what he is made of. I'd make De Jong or Wijnaldum captain, but wouldn't be overly upset to see Janmaat as captain which would seem more likely. It might turn out to be an unmitigated disaster, but by God we need to try something - and need to do something about the ****s who don't put in the commitment they should (Colo/Sissoko). We're almost certain to get beat anyway and at least this way we'd be trying to fix things. I await the inevitable ridicule.....
[QUOTE="Less Hope Than Neville, post: 8646339, member I await the inevitable ridicule.....[/QUOTE] You have probably saved yourself by making your post longer than that for The Coyote Canyon rules post. Most of the lazy basxxrds on here wont get past the first paragraph. However I think you are an idiot for caring that much and CC cant understand why Marv's name is nowhere within your War & Peace Eqvt.
Willo is going to score. I can feel it in The Force. What I can't tell yet is which team he'll score FOR.
You could not write this script!! If you did, you would be labelled a maniac! What will happen next? I dread to think. The return of Keegan? I would not be surprised if it happened!!!
I like the idea of Janmaat wide right but need to keep Mbemba at CB for me. I'd drop Sissoko and Colo because they're lazy & cowardly and I agree with resting Perez. I still think I'd go for: Elliott in goal with a back four of Janmaat, Mbemba, Williamson, Dummett. I'd play a diamond in midfield with Tiote sitting, Gini and Colback in the middle with De Jong playing behing Cisse & Mitro or even Thauvin playing behind De Jong and one of Mitro/Cisse. I definitely want to see a minimum of 3 changes to the starting line up, Sissoko and Colo can't play. I think De Jong is a must, even in his brief cameo's he seems to give maximum effort and actually talk/instruct his team mates.
Newcastle United rocked by another injury as Mike Williamson limps out of training http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...castle-united-rocked-another-injury-10544970? welcome back Colo
FFS!!!!!! Bet it was Colo wo injured him, on the same team as well! No lacelles either, we Litterally have Colo and Mbmemba unless we play Dummett in his natural position of CB, but that would be mental
