We'll miss his match analyses. Too harsh on United sometimes but his football knowledge and match analysis are sound compared to some of the pundits on TV and the press (Merson, Lawrenson, Henry are just puppets in comparison).
I'm now his manager, we have been inundated with offers of tv work.. We have also turned down being one of the professional dancers on strictly.
Obviously this is a massive job for Neville and hopefully he does well. But you can't help but think he's taking on a lot here in his first managerial job. First of all he's managing one of the biggest sides in Spain, a side who are regularly in the top 4, then you have the added issue of having to learn Spanish, not to mention he has no experience whatsoever even as a player of Spanish football. The fans are not happy with the owners as it is, and i don't think many will be pleased with this appointment, so I think Neville is really gonna have to hit the ground running, or he could find himself in hot water fast. He starts off with a huge CL game at home to Lyon, which Valencia need to win to progress, so it's a massive first game for him. If he wins it he could go along way to getting the fans on side
I wish him well, but can't help thinking that this would have been a great opportunity for Giggs, particularly with Phil Nev still in post. It would have allowed him to step out of LVG's shadow for a few months (and perhaps avoid the worst of the ****e as it hits the fan) and to show his management skills (or lack therof) in a pretty much win/win situation for him. If he turned them around, it would boost his stock but if it didn't work out then it could have been written up as simply adding European football experience to his portfolio. Interesting to see how fast the odds fell on gary becoming our next manager ............................
**** video. Gary didn't do any dancing or make V-signs at the screen at any point. He's got a lot to learn about Youtube.
