That's the joy of working from home. During the day I can eat whatever the **** I want. All I have to do is put up with a bit of whining when she gets home and finds what's missing. Tho' I find it harder to take the moral high when she pays for around a third of the food. So I always make sure to leave at least 33% of anything I open.
Thought turn to the effort of Christmas dinner. Hard work could do without it. Got a goose in the freezer ready and will make the gravy and freeze it. Foil trays for as much as possible so that they can be thrown.
What you making the gravy out of if it's before you cook the goose then? Ours is standard, turkey. What type and where from depends on the weather and me as last year I won one in one of the annual turkey trot comps (golf) but three of the last four have been abandoned due to weather so time is running out. Looks ****e again for this Saturday. Was a cracker too 14lb free range job from a local farm, saved us a good fifty quid. I get no say in cooking the ****er though. Had a Dominoes last night. None of your fat **** crusts though, just a standard thin and crispy. Was very nice, lots of jalapeno's.
I made this one year and have adapted it to my own taste over time, it's very, very nice. A lot of effort but then none on the day, I add the juices on the day to it. http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/get-ahead-gravy/
I do it every year and it is lovely, just tweak it to your taste. I use less carrot and don't put the cranberry sce in. I've changed it quite a bit from what I remember. Just do it soon and freeze then stick it in a pan on Christmas day.
I had a pissed up pub debate last night with a born again Christian. I tried to convince him there is no God. Was quite funny. Going to fetch a maccies breakfast in a minute.
Ah, that's always the wrong approach with Christians. Don't try to convince them there's no God, try to convince them that, with all the different religions and different views of God, there's almost no chance their view will be correct. This sums up my view on the issue: P.S. Of course you could just blame it all on the deluded RS. But that might be a different kind of Christian...
That's essentially what I was saying to him in a very drunk sweary way. On a lighter note I've just bought my tickets for the new Star Wars film.
Very much looking forward to Star Wars, going to watch the old ones over Christmas and take the youngest to see the new film in the new year.
I'm going on the 19th. Can't wait till after Christmas. Will probably go twice and see it on a normal cinema not in 3D over Christmas.
