Looks a fairly motley bunch from afar

Wouldn't Murray Hamilton and Fury be the most likely picks?

Farah, Ennis, but probably Hamilton will win it.

For his long standing excellence, Sinfield, but no one will vote for him.

Fury would be my bet, with Murray and Hamilton not far away, basically because their achievements will be fresh in peoples minds .

Those whose achievements have been greatest (Fury, Hamilton, maybe Murray) also share personalities that many (not all!) people find, er, not tremendously appealing. So it could be a close one this year. Ennis might be a lively outsider, given her general likeability and her post-baby comeback.

Sign of the times that a Brit can win the Tour de France and not get a mention as a serious contender (I know he's in the 12).

Your not suggesting Auntie B would manipulate the vote are you?

To be honest, with charter renewal just around the corner, I'd say any fiddling would be very unlikely indeed. It can't afford the scandal that would blow up if any manipulation happened and got out.

    Fury will win.

He has that charisma that wins people over, similar to Bradley Wiggins.

That's why Phil Taylor came third one year.

Vardy has a great back story. Leicester fans must be pissed off he's not in there. There's various in the 12 I've never heard of yet the people's game has no one represented. Athletics is over represented for the low level of interest it generates.

The team award will be hard to pick this year! Is there a short list for that?
The women's football team, Davis Cup team and Leeds Rhinos would all be in with a great chance

I can't believe that Danny Kent wasn't an option..The only top level(Grand Prix) rider to win a world championship for Britain since Barry Sheene in 1979 .I'm sure some of you may have heard of that and felt a wee sense of pride that the lad learned his craft on ****ey wee tracks like Mallory,Cadwell and Darley Moor..but he went out onto the world stage and pissed off all those Spanish wannabes......my choice if it was there :p

I fancied Laura Trott but she isn't even an option. Il'll have to go with Murray after the Davis Cup (The Tennis World Cup).

Bernie coached by 2 daughters in Gymnastics, truly was a great coach and gentleman. He didn't like flying and for the 1960 Olympics when he represented GB he drove himself by car to Rome when the rest of the team flew.

Absolutely. I think it's pretty outrageous that he's not been nominated. Don't think he'd have won but Luck Bronze? Don't make me laugh.
