Yes, I guess you're right SBC, but I cannot be too critical. Stuck out here in the wilderness of mainland Europe, Channel 4 helps me enjoy my Saturday afternoon horseracing; it's free too. Don't particularly like ATR or Racing UK, so am grateful to Channel 4. If I get fed-up with some of the stuff, like many on here, I just play a hand or two of "Hearts" and resume when a commentary starts again. Maybe one day things will improve, another channel needs to bid for the horseracing contract when it comes up for renewal (God knows when that is?).
Been told to back the Best horse MY LORD today but it is drifting like a barge, current 4/1 at Sid James
The boy is shot to pieces mate. His confidence must be at an all time low. Especially if he is looking at the press he is getting. As you know I have never been a fan and thought Nicholls should have gone back to Fehily when the vacancy came up. He is looking more and more like a liability as each day passes. On C4 at the weekend they said only 5% of races are won by the jockey....plenty more are lost by them though.
The thing that's annoying me is he seems really weak in a drive. Seems to be getting out ridden daily. I like the lad but this year he has been woeful. Misjudging rides all over the place.
I am amazed at the betting trends for the Plumpton bumper with RELIGHT THE FIRE drifting from strong fav last night to third in the betting at 3/1 now. Has by far the best form in the book and looks cracking value now!
Not much to go on Swanny but interesting money for Elsworths AUSTRALIAN QUEEN in the Lochsong colours!
Sprinter Sacre back in form yet dodges Un De Slow in the Tingle Creek.... Would have been an interesting watch but only one week of the season really matters.
Stick, hindsight tells me that this was a bit sharp for PJ, not a bad run though? AQ lost all chance early on, but still one for the notebook I'd say? This might have been a decent fillies race.
The Big Lad, a horse on the way up for Rochard Hughes. Glad for owners after its training at Robins Farm for two seasons
Swanny I was that impressed with both maidens there this afternoon that I was going to create a thread with two to follow from each. Both winners will turn out to be decent with the first race likely to throw up better class animals than the second.
