    He's now re-writing the laws of physics, this mans genius knows no bounds.

    He's managed this without any experiments nor peer review, he's in line for a Nobel prize.

    All hail the winner of the internetz

    OK, now do the same calculation for magnetic field strengths and plasma densities found in intergalactic space. Show your working.

    Every mass does has an effect on light. But only large masses has large effects.

    Compare the mass of the moon to the mass of a galaxy. We can measure the effect of a galaxy. Does that mean we should be able to measure the effect of the moon? Apply your logic Sisu and show your working.

    What is climate change?

    The planet's climate has constantly been changing over geological time. The global average temperature today is about 15C, though geological evidence suggests it has been much higher and lower in the past.

    However, the current period of warming is occurring more rapidly than many past events. Scientists are concerned that the natural fluctuation, or variability, is being overtaken by a rapid human-induced warming that has serious implications for the stability of the planet's climate.

    Really sorry to come to this late and be thick, but I swear I saw a documentary about how this was proven by a telescope in california in the 20's, after previous attempts in Russia and Africa were interrupted by the war (WWI). Shall I firm that up, or does anyone on here have a clue what I'm talking about? (obviously, I don't). Sure it was some Cambridge astrophysicist who went totally against his college to do it as well.

    It's all a myth, driven by the media, chemtrails and a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows.

    <doh>

    Then it can be only force and not space time

    Because if space time causes light to bend, it is not because of any force, it is because the path that light travels is distorted. Force has nothing to do with it. This is direct contradiction of the claim by you same people that a mass has to cause a curve big enough for light to follow it, but that doesn't add up. so if the mass is not great enough, light will ignore space time curvature and go on its merry way?

    Stop dragging Newton into it. Newton's model is a linear model, Relativity is non linear, stop just slapping them together.

    @astroturfnaut

    I actually thought about this lightclock a bit more after watching @donga kloppo 's video with the moving circle and flash, as with that, there is a bit of false perception created.

    Now keep up Astro, this is a result of thinking, something that is not really your thing. Quick one liners are your thing.

    I've actually broken it down to childlike equation, to explain how it is not time dilation, all by myself like <laugh> Einstein was a nut in this particular case.

    The person on the platform in this thought experiment,can (unrealistically) see the velocity and trajectory of the train and the photon.
    So the person on the platform represents (t + p)

    The person on the train only as 'p' (the photon trajectory and velocity)

    Simply put, (t+p ) - p = time dilaton factor or rather the result of the equation is what is missing from the perception of the person on the train, which I have just quantified.

    Yes spacetime causes light to bend, and bigger masses distort spacetime more, causing light to bend more. Where's the problem?

    How did I drag Newton into it with a 1 word post?

    So the one on the platform sees t+p

    So a train going at 0.5c, and a photon going at c, means the platform viewer sees 1.5c right?
