They could have had 1, they could have had 20. Point is, 1 of theirs went in. If we don't hit the target, we can never win. Simple as that.

We need to buy a new striker in January and by that I mean a striker that goes straight into the starting line up.

There have been a few encouraging moments in this game, but also some moments of sheer crap. It's a shame the goal came the way it did but overall not good enough

But at least a sign of encouragement and some progress in the right direction.

Saying that, we'll be back to square one next week when Jonjo plays <wah>

The problem is who do we blame, as Gomis and Eder (who we can't fault for effort) are not in the class of Bony?

To be honest, this hasn't been great again. Overall, toothless. At least we got a bit of work rate today.

I've think we've learnt that Montero is a starter - he doesn't seem to be able to get into the game if we bring him on with 20 to go. At least not the way we play now.

I think Monk needs to realise that one winger and Ayew doesn't work either. We have no balance going forward and are way too easy to defend against.

Who is the question! Bas Dost we was linked with in the summer. Hed be a good choice or Adrian Ramos who's struggling to get game time ATM

A huge improvement on last week but by God we need a striker.

Big pluses for me were Bartley, Naughton and Routs.

Danny Graham wasn't in the class of Bony but he still managed to bang a few in for us. Not only that but he worked hard all game and he also tested the keeper a good few times. Gomis and Eder should be streets ahead of Graham yet aren't cutting it for us at all. Management have to take the blame as its their failing tactics that we aren't even testing keepers anymore.

Sorry guys , but I feel this was a win , we go on with confidence and an entire squad at the ready and we must let Monk lead them till at least the new year ... I so enjoyed this game , the first one in a very long time ..cheers

Tbh, I'd put Graham higher than Gomis. Gomis makes him look a world beater.

I don't think either side had a proper shot on target. Can't remember that happening before.

    Routs------------Ki---------------Cork-------------Montero
    ---------------------------Gylfi-----------------------
    -------------------------Ayew------------------

Get Joey Allen back. Allen, Britton and Sigurdsson were a fantastic Premier League midfield. You could bring Cork into that. Cork holding, Allen box-to-box, Siggy creative. Two wingers either side and Ayew upfront. Sweet, beautiful balance, harmony and poetry in motion.

The reality is that I have no idea if what I'm saying would work, but it's frustrating as hell that throughout this entire poor run, Monk has always set up with the same system, just with different players. He's got to take a good look at himself and realise that it's what he's doing that is costing the team - his players worked hard today, but were handicapped by an unbalanced lineup. It doesn't matter how hard you work in a failing system, it's always going to be 10x harder to win. Demonstrated perfectly today by not troubling their keeper once.

How can anyone be satisfied when we have lost another game even though it was penalty.

I'd have him back all day long. Sell Jonjo and use the funds to bring him home <ok>
