Geat read this thread, some really passionate and well constructed responses. Quick question, has Papiss had his teeth fixed, we were trying to work it out on mOTD, about time like #applethroughaletterbox
We want a side worthy of the best fanbase in the world. This bullshit about competing for top four is not coming from us now **** off and mind your own business. You know two thirds of **** all about our club **** for teeth.
Wait. I asked to know what the problem was. Obviously I don't know all abput Newcastle. I stated in the OP I was curious. I asked a question. I said I understand. Somebody asked me what my opinion was. I said it. Now im a wum and all the other names under the sun? I even left the thread by saying it could be maybe that I was wrong, sorry for offending people and good lucj for the season. To be honest I doubt you really read what I posted. Most of ur fans actually responded to my points with as the guy above said well thpught out and interesting replies. You just come across as a bit aggressive...I could sink to your level of swearing etc but im like the rest od your fans better than all that. if anyones wondering I have much better things to do than wind up geordies I dont know. I have better things to do than read atupid abuse like that. I was curious had a question, and pretty much had it answered. Good luck for the future Mrtiote hopefully next time we speak you'll be a bit more courteous.
I think he did read them. Judging by his response to you he likes you. That's polite compared to how he talks to us!
It's different for everyone obviously but for me the issue is effort. Most people can put up with a player having limited talent as long as he is willing to put in the effort to play as well as he can. Lazy players drive you mad. It's the same with the owner. If the club was trying to finish as high as it could, if it was trying to sign the best players it could afford and to keep the best ones it had, then everyone would be pretty sympathetic if it fell short now and then, or even most of the time. What sticks in the craw is that the club isn't trying to finish as high as it can, it isn't trying to sign the best players, it isn't trying to keep the best players we have. Instead, it is trying to be as profitable as possible. Not in the pursuit of future glory but in the pursuit of future profitable mediocrity. The supporters are interested in football. The club isn't, except in so far as it is necessary as a source of funding. Not a recipe for a happy relationship.
I get the impression 90% of fans feel this way. We need to remember we are a football club. We all accept the business aspect, its unavoidable. They are not mutually exclusive.
What gets my goat is this... I have watched football for years, as have most of us, and I feel I am well qualified to spot a decent player when I see one and also to spot a useless or average one too. Also i know what good football looks like, I have seen loads of it through the years, though not much of it at St James. When i get a manager telling me that this player is great and the football the team is playing is wonderful when it is bleeding obvious that the player is useless and the football is crap I get very annoyed. Pardew treating us all like idiots that know nothing about the game is particularly ****ing annoying. Calling the fans stupid, blaming the fans for wanting more goals etc are not things a DECENT manager should do! I know that with a different manager these players would do better. How much better i do not know but they would be better for sure. But it looks like we are stuck with Pardew for a while yet. That really winds me up, I have to get my anger out so i vent my spleen on here, as do most of us. All I want is to see decent players playing decent football with a bit of heart and fight and a manager who stops consistently lying to fans and media alike. I do not think that is asking for a great deal from a football club, but evidently with NUFC I am made out to be some sort greedy fan who wants the world. Pardew is useless and he should go. He wont though so I have to keep up the pressure until he cracks. The signs are there and if we keep it up he will eventually. It may be we have to wait until we are certainties for relegation before it happens but so be it. At least he will have gone...
Was just having a look back at our previous 5 year plan from early 2009. It appears there were 3 objectives: 1) Get the club on a sound financial footing 2) Challenge for everything 3) Emulate Aston Villa Don't know how they could reconcile 2) and 3) but we certainly seemed to have achieved 1) and 3). Goes without saying that in order to achieve 1) we needed to stay in the Premier League but whats worrying is that we don't seem to have thought about where we go now. Maybe 2) was ambitious before 1) was achieved but it shouldn't be now. What's worrying is there doesn't seem to be any mention of a new 5-year plan or an updated one which makes us all feel that there is now a lack of ambition. Any business with a lack of ambition is either doomed to fail or being treated as a cash-cow. It doesn't bode well for the provision of entertaining football. My problem with the club and with Pardew is that everything now reeks of short-termism yet he was given a long term contract, presumably to do more than just make sure we stay up year on year. We seem to be extremely poor at bringing young players through - seems to be more of an accident when it happens. So many of the supposedly talented academy players go out on loan and often never come back. We have exploited cheap French labour but that should have been a stop-gap solution while we groomed (maybe not the most PC term at the moment) our own local talent. Ashley has done an admirable job in getting the club on a sound financial footing but it would be nice if he can explain how we are going to move forward from here and then appoint a manager who can get us there.
Well...you sacked pardew, was it all worth it?? Was gonna repost this thread in the carver days, but its apt now after getting drubbed 5-1 by your ex... Maybe the toon were a bit hasty..
we didnt sack pardew, he left to go back to his home club. we might have a different manager but its still the same shower of shyte on the pitch who unfortunatly are like that one kid in class who just doesnt care, doesnt listen and gives up at the slightest bit of hard work....
I just want my cock sucked at Xmas, on my birthday, and any other special occasion off the missus. After that I'm pretty easy going.
He was obviously loved by you lot...... It must have been a hard decision to leave for his home town club. What do you think we're the deciding factors ??? If he'd fallen flat on his arse at Palace, you would have been saying "told you so" & "good riddance"... Just because he is doing well down there you can't suddenly say he wasn't forced out by the QUOTE 'best fan base in the world' UNQUOTE.... He WAS and YOU know it !! I totally understand every fans frustration.... WE (up here) deserve better and watching teams like Swansea (albeit last year) & now Leicester doing so well and spending a fraction of what we do just doesn't seem right. The brutal fact is that our beloved clubs are ran badly... Now there's a fact I'm sure we can agree on?
