The Klitschko brothers have collectively removed the entertainment from Heavyweight boxing. I'm glad Fury won, it may not have been the best match ever, but don't forget it was in what Klitschko considers 'home' despite the fact he's Ukrainian. Fury got a unanimous decision even after having a point deducted. That is pretty difficult to do and the reason Klitschko had no answer is because of Fury's non standard style.

I do think Joshua will knock Dillian White all over the ring. But completely agree with your comments about Fury - the heavyweight division has never seen a fighter of his size and weight with his movement and mobility. I think he'll go on to prove he's an outstanding champion.

Obviously Joshua is yet to fight anyone even half decent, but I don't recognise the 'dull as dishwater' description, he's been brilliant to watch so far.

I'm hoping he turns out to be the real deal, so we can get behind someone who sells tickets because they're a talented boxer, rather than someone who sells tickets by dressing up as Batman.

I meant his interviews etc. I agree that's somewhat entertaining seeing someone smash someone else inside a round, but i prefer it when you know the other guy has a chance and isn't some Brazilian roadsweeper getting paid 20k to get knocked out. I'd put Joshua in with one of those monster Eastern Europeans who are all over these days - a guy who has a top 20 ranking would be nice - to see how he fares. He simply must step it up after the Whyte fight.

I like fighters with charisma and who talk ****e and back it up - i like the soap opera drama built up around the fight that the Klitschos tried to remove.

I'm more than happy for a boxer to let his boxing do the talking, he certainly does need to act like a cretin to make me want to watch.

Hopefully Joshua will get a decent fight soon, so we can see what he's really made of.

Some seem to be confusing a guy building interest in an event that the Klitschko's have made dull, with a guy being a clown. The fight starts long before the gloves go on.

Boxing is the art of self defence, and using what you have in the best way to nullify your opponent's strength. Unorthodox as Fury is, he had a good game plan against a more technical boxer that has power in his punches.

    Stick to what you know...

Vlad was asked why he didn't throw any right hands. His answer... He couldn't get close to thinking he would land any.
Why? Fury had the audacity, confidence, mobility and tactics to completely negate him. He even show boated.
Luck or talent? Take a guess. Yes, the fight was messy and raw, but he won. Boxing is all about th result, not the performance.

He won. It wasn't an accident.

The Degale fight was decent. Two good fighters going at it. Pleased for Fury, we met him when Degale and Eubank fought at the hull arena a couple of years back. He's almost normal without the cameras on him.

    I don't think anyone's confusing anything.

I think Fury sells fights in the same way that Katie Hopkins sells newspapers, both may be effective in selling in their respective fields, but neither does their field much credit.

He's done more to raise the profile of the heavyweight division in the last few months than the Klitschko's have in a decade, even if people only watched to see him get battered.

Plus, he has family in Hull.

I'm no fan of the Klitchkos and the heavyweight division needs to get more competitive, I'd just rather it was done by people being good boxers, rather than clowns.

The judges and ringside pundits decided the better boxer won over the course of the fight. Klitschko wasn't a good enough boxer to beat him.

And he fully deserved to win, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was making about it being a **** fight and me not being impressed with boxers dressing up as Batman.

But Fury is a good boxer, anyone with an eye for boxing can see that.

It has a lot to do with those two points. Fury used what he had to nullify someone that was technically better, with a harder punch and more high level experience. It was intriguing using to see how each dealt with that.

The match started long before they got in the ring, so the antics had at least two purposes.

He got it right for the situation. It'll be interesting to see what happens now the dynamics are different, as defending is a different beast to winning a title.

Klitchko learned to protect his weaknesses, one part of that was a lack of adventure in his style. If he pushed forward with more purpose and glove, it could be a very different fight, especially against someone like Fury, who doesn't seem to have a knock out punch.

    Edit.

It also seems that Klitschko's reserved style was a significant contribution to why some may have felt it wasn't an entertaining event. It's why I don't tend to watch Klitchko.

18 KO's out of 25 and a 72% KO record says he does have a knockout punch.
