I don't think she could - Holm had superb boxing skills. It's not something you can easily prepare for.

I don't even think it should be an offence.

Your point is that boxing is being viewed as boring due to the all action nature of UFC, correct? I'm highlighting that boxing is a legitimate part of fighting which is why it was pivotal in Holms defeat of Rousey. Holms background is as a highly successful boxer.

****ing hell you're on one today glp. I like boxing, i prefer boxing to UFC. Last night was ****, I'm glad he won. It was a truly awful fight and if every fight was like that boxing would cease to be a spectator sport.
Too many fights over the last 20 years have been like that, especially in the heavy weight division.

Lets hope Fury fights a few good fighters and knocks them out.

    Especially that druggie Joshua <laugh>

In other news, James DeGale beat Lucian Bute to retain the IBF title.

Sunday is a day for being on one. Ha - I don't feel agreeable today. Look, Fury made a massive step up and all along he said he would beat him, what more can he do than deliver on his promise?

Most people and ex pro's didn't think he would win - I did. The problem with the heavyweight boxing division is boxers like Klitschko have made it sterile and dull for over 10 years, dominating with a ****ing jab style against frankly useless boxers. Plus the lack of decent heavyweight boxing prospects. It makes me wish I'd taken up boxing properly rather than just mess around at it.

I've never watched a UFC fight, or a WWE one and if all boxing was like last nights, I wouldn't watch that either.

FURY: "There were rounds in there when I was playing with him. I think he'll take the rematch".

Doubt it, he should just retire.

Well done to Fury, well deserved win irrespective of whether people believe Klitschko is past it

The Klitschko's have been crap for boxing because they're dull. They're not a draw. Fury did what he had to do to sell what would be a dull fight and has bumped his purse up no end.

I wanted Fury to either deliver well and back his mouth or to get his head knocked clean off. For me, Fury backed his words, and won me a couple of Bob from the bookies in the process.

To some degree, delivering long term is academic, he's already secured a good purse and his future what ever the outcome of his next fight.

I only started watching UFC recently and the action is better though GLP is right in a way that if somebody is so good at one of the disciplines like boxing then they can use that completely to their advantage. The tactical fights that go the distance are great to watch with all the variation between the different fighting arts

You mean David Haye, the guy who packs dynamite in his hands, who was a unified cruizerweight champion and defeated Valuev in his own back yard? Haye may be a clown but he's a very gifted boxer.

Shows what I know, Klitchko is exercising his rematch option and will fight Fury again next year.

It's going to be a hard sell.

    I get it.

Last nights fight would have been off the radar without Fury's clowning. It's show business as well as sport and he drummed up media exposure and interest.

And he is now world champion.

Not sure why some of you don't get it. It was an interesting fight, and they can't all be knock out wonders.

He's laughing all the way to the bank and doesn't care. As for the other forms of fighting... No thanks.

As a spectacle, I thought last night was on a par with Haye v Harrison.

I'm not sure you can compare Wlad or Fury with Audley Harrison - that was a complete mismatch. Haye was a very good boxer with one punch knock out power.

I'll wait until Joshua fights a guy that isnt a complete bum before I make any decision. So far he looks stiff as a board, is far too roided up to have any movement and is dull as dishwater. He'll probably gas out completely ala Bruno if he ever has to do more than 4 rounds.

I'm hoping Dillian Whyte takes his head off - though he's pretty poor as well.

With Fury, people think he's ****e but he's extremely mobile for a man his size. He moves like a middleweight. For him to stand there with his hands behind his back like Roy Jones Jnr used to, a foot away from the HW champion is class. Wlad is old and couldnt get his shots off but its still a massive win and Fury could go on to become an ATG.

I personally think he'll make a few defences, get fat and lazy with the good life and get knocked out or just retire. But if he did ever dedicate his life to it he could be awesome.
