Wet, grey and windy here at present, but supposed to perk up later. An English friend is retiring shortly, so today is having a party to celebrate. It is a two hour drive each way, so as it starts at noon and has no fixed time to end, I have kept the day free.

When I lived in Lincoln I used to go to Porters in Newark for their "Newark sausages" which were a combination of pork, bramley apple and stilton and they were absolutely scrumptious!
