Why are you signing championship players?

commons is a good player for 1 in every 6 games.

you've signed wilson from us, i won't slag him off he'll do a job for you but end of day if you want to be competing in europe, you need to be signing better players.

I agree, the likes of Gary Hooper I never minded because he a good record for a struggling club and was very young, signing players who are 27 and have mediocre records just isn't right.

I'll be honest i've not seen much of him. He seems to be decent in the championship - but no one from the EPL has taken a punt on him - which rings alarm bells to me

But i'll give him a chance.

Im not sure we need another winger though - i dunno why we signed Ljunberg (sp) either if we dont intend to play him. Surely signing Commons surely pushes him even further down the pecking order?

Id rather we spent the fee and wage on top of what we intend to pay on a centre half so we could get a top one?!

Don't see the appeal of Commons at all.

If he was any good he'd be with a Stoke or Bolton type club.

Even when playing for Scotland, he looks mediocre.

I was looking forward to him signing for us but then was that just to get someone in? He's done well for the National set up and was happy with his performances.
I wouldn't say that I'm not bothered about losing out on Commons but I won't lose any sleep over it. Questions will be asked if he made the right move. There's better wingers at the Celtic so will he get a regular game where he would have played nearly every one at Rangers. I don't see why they need more wingers TBH.

I think this signing is more about publicity of getting one over Rangers than anything else. Either that or Lennons philosophy is keep buying and you'll get it right as I can;t see where Commons will fit in at Celtic.

    <ok>

You don't honestly believe that do you Bollo?

Celtic were linked with Commons months ago and they were obviously biding their time to get him on the cheap. I'd love to think we did do it to stick two fingers up to Rangers but I sincerely doubt that's the case.

commons isn't just a winger ,he can play in any of the midfield positions and up front apparently. any player that scores 12 goals in half a season in the championship is worth having.at the moment with our current wingers all having plastic legs and the rate at which they get injured we will need yet another one .

    so welcome Kris

Because unfortunately the money that most CCC clubs can offer is beyond us, and most L1 teams can offer more than the rest of the SPL. Our philosophy must now be to bring through good players, buy a few gems from lower leagues and unknown abroads, and hope they punch above their weight for us to get one good season in 5 in Europe.

We didn't want to lose him but as soon as you offered him £18k per week we were sunk.

He can be fantastic and frustrating by turn. He is not a winger anymore - he doesn't have the pace. When he did best for us it was as a free roaming Attacking Midfielder.

Will you be giving him that kind of freedom on the pitch ?

Carefully manage those hamstrings of his by the way !

Great signing I think. We've needed somebody genuinely left footed in the attacking positions. He'll get goals and create them. Winding up the Huns is a bonus, Mick.

He did score a peach in his first game.

Probably his last goal this season.

Everyone but commons himself admitted it was a cross, of course he meant it. "Ah meant it!" <laugh>

Looks like a decent player, he's got a wee bit more experience and wee need that also seems to have a goal threat.

Anport Freddie is in to help us see out close games, he'll not start much but if we are 1 up going into the later stages he'll be a old head the younger one can look to to do the right things.

How can others "Admit" what they don't know?

If Commons says he meant it then he meant it, it's therefore up to you to prove he's lying so go find it and come back when you have the evidence.
