I think you'd be lucky to get any of them actually, given your situation. If I were Ashley I'd get rid of McClaren immediately and do everything humanly possible to get Moyes.

Moyes suited Everton - he has been a failure since he left. Even at Everton he wasn't popular with many of their fans.

I'm not interested in watching dour football under Moyes. I'd sooner be relegated. Football is about enjoyment as a supporter.

You don't need that style to stay up. There are several ways to skin a cat.

I'm not saying he's brilliant but you're not going to get anyone brilliant. He's failed in Spain but then it's a gamble going over there with the style of football being so different.

He's roughly in the same mould as Allardyce and I think he'd do a similar job for you that Sam seems to have on us.

It doesn't have to be a big name. Just someone that can get the best out of players, want to bring in players who play attractive football (again not necessarily big names - look at Leicester) and someone who will make watching the team enjoyable to watch - win or lose!

Everton weren't that bad under Moyes, they played good football hence why he was offered one of the biggest jobs in football. I think it's a foolish thing to prefer to be relegated playing good football than stay up grinding out results.

There was a sizeable portion of the Everton fans who really wanted rid of him long before he left. He achieved respectability for them, but many of them hated the football his teams played and were very frustrated with his approach to games. With some of the players they had through the years there are still Everton fans who believe he under achieved.

Everton were horrible under Moyes, effective but horrible to watch. On a budget he did a fantastic job. The big question was always, was that his style or could he play a more entertaining style given better resources. It turned out not.

The PL is not the be all and end all for me. I thoroughly enjoyed watching us the fizzy pop. Not because we were winning, but because we put in 100% every week.

Everton are much stronger with Martinez than they was with Moyes.

I'm not surprised you enjoyed watching them you bossed the league that season. The point is though, it's the risk. What if you didn't have a good season and you didn't come back up? There's a long list of huge clubs that have been relegated and been reduced to mediocrity over the years.

I bet their supporters would give anything to go back in time and not get relegated.

I'm fairly sure we wouldn't bounce back. It would be a long hard slog if we disappear again. we had real heart in the team last time. That isn't there anymore.

Shane villa sacked sherwood, I would have loved remi garde here :-(. Summer clear out for me.

    Out
    Colo
    Janmaat
    Haidara
    Taylor
    Dummett
    Anita
    Sissiko
    Cisse
    De Jong
    Thauvin
    Tiote

Probably a couple of others I've overlooked.

We have no serious competition for places, our players are constantly underperforming and still getting picked cos we have no other ****ing options. Mitrovic dropped cos he's done nowt last couple of games, he's had **** all to feed off and no support, so we replace him with cisse for ****s sake ! Unbelievable (not sure if mitro was injured by the way).

    Sick as **** !

We need to change something, well anything really. We need some sort of ****ing boost and because January seems so ****ing far away I think it must be McClaren's spam faced balding head on a pole along with his staff.

McLaren is limited for sure, but it's been generally the same bunch of players who've made mugs of the previous two managers and I absolutely blame them 100% for what's going on.

Coloccini should be dropped, I would take a centre half pairing of Lascelles and Mbemba now. Inexperienced but they can only improve and they can't be any worse together than things are with the clown in there. I think we need to recall Armstrong if we can and get him in the side with Perez. Two players with a crazy attribute for a Newcastle player - movement. Our midfield has no chance when there's barely any option to pass to, they try a ball that's not on because of that and then we are under pressure. And I'm sick of seeing our midfield running back towards their own goal. Sorely reminiscent of our relegation season seeing the likes of Butt constantly trying and failing to catch up to play. Can't they get goal side for once?! I thought Janmaat was made of captain material but he's soft like Coloccini, won't risk hurting himself getting in the way of a shot, he's going the same way as the clown as I think he's losing the stomach for the fight in this "team".

BUT while McLaren is picking those players, he hasn't really got a great deal of alternatives in the squad he's been given. I would maybe try De Jong in there who seems to genuinely want some game time, but that's about it. We're going down, Villa too as they're copying us and killing their squad with low rent, low quality signings. I only hope Sunderland manage to go down with us.

I think we all want to see Armstrong make it, but he is absolutely NOT the answer to keeping us up this season. The one big problem with the transfer policy is that we haven't been signing enough proven players, and, sorry, but Armstrong isn't proven in the premier league so we need to look elsewhere. £8m for Austin is a lot but consider it £3-4m over what his signing on fee would be in 6 months so pay the premium and get him in - complete no brainer.
