Sorry its just because i want us to do well like all of us. I can't help saying what I see Definitely going to take a knap Ha ha
Can't see how losing the respect of the players helps. More often than not it's a bad sign. If it doesn't pay off and he doesn't get a response the **** will hit the fan I reckon.
Probably just more rumours but I agree wholeheartedly that its a good thing. They are not performing so there is little point putting your arm round them, encouraging them to continue bottling it. A few home truths are required from time to time. If he loses a few and they go in the window, good because they don't deserve to be here. Sunderland and Newcastle have both had a rotten core for a few years now. A set of senior players who try when they feel like it and have way too much power. There is nothing wrong with having strong characters who have power and clout in the dressing room. Shearer was like that. Difference is he gave you 110% and minimum 7/10 every week. These clowns are charlatans and a manager needs to break that cycle. We might have to take some pain or even a relegation to get sorted. It will be worth it ten times over because the last 4 or 5 years is not enjoyable for fans. I have sympathy with McClaren as I did with Pardew. They are lumbered with bad eggs, and haven't been afforded a defence to work with.
Didn't think it would be a good thing. Got all the signs of Tuffty losing the plot and the dressing room. You lot are in a very very bad place.
The problem is he didn't go far enough. It's no good rightfully telling them how **** they have been but then giving them an automatic spot in the team. Certain players are an absolute disgrace and need an even bigger rollicking than what they got.
Kind of adds to point he should go. Ego's don't react well to rollickings, half arsed or full pelt. No good rollicking players who don't react well to it and inevitably disrupt the dressing room. Then he doesn't show any consistency and fooled himself into thinking it was good thing. You don't have confidence, you've got a dressing room full of friction with poison like Sissoko with the hump on and a captain who isn't adequate enough to make the starting line let alone wear the armband. Sounds like Tuffty is getting everything wrong even down to his substitutions.
To be fair him picking them probably just confirms its bullshit. So easy to say after the event, yeah he's lost them. Its comical, we've been this way for 4 years Its not got nothing to do with some falling out on the training ground, mythical or not. Its the same old problems. This notion that a manager shouldn't call players out or tell them home truths when underperforming is laughable. Do people honestly believe the worlds best managers, nevermind McClaren, just accept poor performance, give them a cuddle and move on? Ferguson kicked a boot in Beckhams face because he thought he let him down in one game They get bollocked all the time, it is part of the profession. People just home in these things when you are going badly. The bottom line is we lack heart and a defence.
I'm not disagreeing with the thoughts that he needs to go. I'm usually a big fan of giving managers time, but playing those two today was a disgrace. We need someone who doesn't give a **** about egos or how big a name someone thinks they have. Someone needs to tear into them properly and remove the poison from the club.
Whoever is in charge needs to be given the freedom to clear out the crap and build a decent squad. Far too many just don't give a ****. When you look at how long it has gone on for it is beyond a joke.
You can also look back to the supposed power games in the past between factions in the squad. It looks like the wrong faction won.
That's it. Footballers these days need to know their place day one. I bet Tufty came in wanting to be everyone's best friend. He doesn't have the consistency or the staying power to be a disciplinarian. If your club are going to anything right in the next two months they need to sack him and try and shift the poison. I wouldn't mind them all sticking around of course.
It goes back to transfer business. We ripped out the likes of Simpson, Nolan, Barton, Carroll etc. We didn't get players with a similar mentality. I remember arguing on here with people about the route we were taking, "it doesn't matter these guys are technically better". Football is in the head too, what kind of attitude a player has, we lost the plot ages ago. I'm watching Leicester. The likes of Simpson, Vardy, Drinkwater etc. They are not great players but they have the attitude. Add some quality around it, hey presto you have a team. Then there is the defence...
Sacking McClaren isn't the answer either. There has to be a fundamental ship in how we go about our transfer business. What frustrates me is you don't even have to look over into the other gardens to see what works. Bloody Robson spelled out in very clear terms, he knew a thing or two about football.
The biggest changes that need to be made are in the squad (and the policy of how the squad is assembled). If he is willing to do that and stand up to the ones who think they have a god given right to be in the team and replace them with players who will show heart and passion as well as ability then he'll have my backing.
I'm not convinced with Steve, never was as I said on many occasions. However until the policy on squad building changes, I'm fairly disinterested who the pawn of a manager is. I'm disappointed mind. The apathy on here as opposed to meltdowns is depressing and lacks character
