Couldn't agree more, but, sadly, we'll still buy Japanese cars, electronics, etc ............. the only way to truly hurt them would be if the consumer walked away. Won't happen though. Who is going to explain to future generations - "we once had these amazing mammals called whales, rhino, elephant ................"
Being serious it was a worthwhile thing to do. It said I had a very sophisticated and highly developed taste in music. When I told the very lovely Mrs Godders she said I must have told it a pack of lies. I didn't. I enjoy a very wide range of musical genres although what I listen to at any time will reflect my mood. Having said that I have never listened to Radio One. As Marty Feldman used to sing " Radio One is a load of fun like migraine headaches". So for a bit of fun here are my desert island discs: Death Letter ~ Son House Midsummer Nights Dream ~ Mendelsohn The Old Rugged Cross ~ Real Ale and Thunder Band Midnight Special ~ Leadbelly God Save the Queen ~ Sex Pistols Emperor Piano Concerto ~ Beethoven Gee, Officer Krupke from West Side Story ~ Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific ~ Rodgers and Hammerstein It has taken three goes to get there and none were on my original list.
Godders, do yourself a favour and get a digital radio and listen to BBC Radio 6 Music. It's Radio One for grown ups.
Lovely. I've had 2 goes and my iPad fell over on nos. 14 and 21 respectively. I'll try again on my Mac later!
I am looking for a digital radio as we speak but I want one that I can keep by my bed so that I can listen to it at night and has a snooze button. I also have to find one with the right tone as with my hearing sometimes I miss what people are saying because I can't separate out the words.

GB (Murray/Murray) take 1st set in Davis Cup. Will keep me from worrying about any other match that is on
The Belgian pair played well, but then the Murrays settled into their stride. Just too good in the end.
Duffy's basement extension in her London house didn't go so well ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34935821
