Elmo should take some criticism too , rubbish at Bristol and last night , not as great as some make him out to be .
Maguire Huddlestone Mcgregor - Didn't do much wrong. I don't get the Maloney love was massively out of position a couple of times and one lead to the goal, and he missed two great chances. I also don't get the Huddlestone hate, we know he isn't going to break at speed so why do we suddenly expect him to change after not doing it for the past ten years? He tried to spread the play quickly but the full backs and wingers refused to take any men on and there was so little movement.
Maguire -- came of age, and was driving on when the midfielders seemed lost (Huddlestone take note) Maloney -- although at fault on occasion, the only spark that could have created us a goal or two Hernandez -- linked up play well, and unlucky with the first half effort, just a great save
Maguire McGregor Huddlestone Despite the fact I believe that Hudd doesn't work for our style of play, he earned my vote last night. He's also looking more and more like a Bobby D love child.
Oh shut the **** up. Nobody was complaining when Hernandez was bagging a goal a game, he does what he has to to score goals. You'd be livid if there was nobody there to put those chances away. Maybe, just maybe, we should pop diame in midfield where he belongs and stop playing with one up front because we're clearly **** at it.
Maguire Maloney Thudd (everyone gave the ball away last night it's just he generally attempted more difficult passes - he's still class)
Maguire Livermore Maloney Playing one attacker was our downfall in this game, we should have dominated midfield with 5 in there, but looked all wrong to start with and, as usual, messed up on our own free kick by going backwards and gave away first goal.
More a case of, not as good as he can be! If his heads thinking about a transfer, his performances won't get him one, so he'd better Buck up & quickly!
If Huddlestone is going to play then his role has to change. He is a liability as a midfield anchor and should be used as an attacking midfielder with Hayden behind him. It seemed to work well in the capital one cup game v Leiceter.
Who the hell would be a goalkeeper? When they make an error they get crucified and redemption is not easily earned. When they make superb saves to keep a piss-poor team selection in the game, but let in two goals, neither their fault and behind a joke of a defence, some of their supporters would rather leave gaps than give them some credit for a decent performance. Why? The 1-2-3 is supposed to give a reflection of the season and I think McGregor deserves a fair shout if there is no-one else thought better.
