In hindsight maybe yes, the problem is we have been doing so well with the system we have been using but that was with a few different players
That's one of the problems when you are moving players around Clucas moving to full back but then you lose him from the midfield, we haven't really got a proper reserve LB
Yeah that's what I was saying, Robertson takes a lot of stick on here but we look half the side both defensively and offensively without him. God forbid he picks up an injury, he is without a doubt top 3 most important players in our system.
Good one mate, you sure put me in my place. I'll come back when I have the time to make 300 posts a day and my opinion becomes worthwhile.
I agree we really missed his pace tonight plus losing Dawson another player so important to the team, we might have got away with it playing a lesser team but not a top four club
Hayden defensively with Huddlestone further forward worked v Leicester in the cup, thats how they should use big Tom as we keep the balance of the team and he can get at players with his passing range where it counts without having an impact defensively (edit meant Swansea, oops)
Maguire was our stand out player tonight, also worryingly he was our most dangerous attacking threat. I would give credit to the opposition if it was deserved, but we were ****ing ****e. Some of the Derby players looked a couple of stone overweight - yet they still managed to bypass our static midfield. Bruce also made changes far too late in the game to have any impact. I tire of seeing square pegs in round holes - Odubajo should never, ever be played at left back again. Bruce should have played 3-5-2 as we had players fit to play that formation. No more square pegs and round holes.
So in that system do you leave out Livermore (who didn't play against Leicester) or Diame who tends to have that role?
Glad you popped up, Mr Hat pointed out that Maguire beat Weimann in a footrace, where was this snail you think is playing for us?
Livermore could play in the role Taylor played, Diamé played right wing in that game and was very effective, though I suspect he'd be livid if asked to play there regularly.
