Firmino is now `World Class` after a tap in from two yards and a nice pass against the worst City defensive display for years
Think it's a tad early to be calling him world class! Beating up on City's geriatric defence doesn't qualify him for that tag.
And even if he played that well every week he's not getting close to a squad of 25 to represent the World
I've just read an article on Liverpool's players' wages. Christ they've got money to burn!! Balotelli £110k per week. Glen Johnson was on £90k per week. Martin Skrtel on £90k per week. Mamadou Sakho on £75k per week. Adam Lallana on £75k per week. Dejan Lovren on £70k per week. Lucas Leiva on £65k per week. Simon Mignolet on £60k per week. Kolo Toure on £60k per week. If you had a bring and buy sale most of them would not be worth 99p per lb. What on earth must Benteke and Milner be on? Just imagine if they got London Weighting on top!!
According to FM16, some of the current wages are as follows... James Milner - £140k p/w Daniel Sturridge - £130k p/w Phillippe Coutinho - £110k p/w Jordan Henderson - £105k p/w Christian Benteke - £100k p/w Roberto Firmino - £100k p/w Mamadou Sakho - £85k p/w Adam Lallana - £80k p/w Nathaniel Clyne - £75k p/w Danny Ings - £75k p/w Lucas Leiva - £75k p/w Lazar Markovic - £75k p/w Dejan Lovren - £70k p/w Martin Skrtel - £70k p/w Kolo Toure - £70k p/w Alberto Moreno - £65k p/w Joe Allen - £55k p/w Jose Enrique - £55k p/w Emre Can - £45k p/w Simon Mignolet - £45k p/w Jordan Ibe - £35k p/w Jon Flanagan - £30k p/w Adam Bogdan - £30k p/w Divock Origi - £25k p/w Joe Gomez - £10k p/w
Christ on a Bike!! What a f*cking waste of money! £140k per week to James Milner!! That's double what we're paying Harry Kane after we double his wages and over 10 times what we've been paying Dele Alli. How the hell are they going to pay for all of these players that are supposed to be coming in to replace the current overpaid rubbish? How are they going to get rid of Lovren, Levia, Markovic, Jose Enrique (£65k pw and I wouldn't recognise him if I saw him), Mignolet and all the rest.
It is a shocking waste of money, since 'Pool do have a very poor squad. However, it does demonstrate the problem that Spurs have, in that teams like 'Pool, City, Chelsea, United, and especially Arsenal, are prepared to throw huge wages at players in order to pay for glory. We have no choice, but to do the same, although I would hope that we would be far more selective about it. Unfortunately for 'Pool, they are have been so ****e for so long that even average players like Lovren and Milner will play for them only if they are bribed with silly wages. If either of those two players had any kind of decency or loyalty in their bones, they be playing for a team that they actually would enjoy playing for, for at least half what they are mugging out of 'Pool.
Hugo Lloris - £95k p/w Son Heung-Min - £85k p/w Erik Lamela - £80k p/w Toby Alderweireld - £80k p/w Christian Eriksen - £65k p/w Kyle Walker - £55k p/w Harry Kane - £50k p/w Mousa Dembele - £50k p/w Nacer Chadli - £45k p/w Federico Fazio - £45k p/w Michel Vorm - £40k p/w Clinton N'Jie - £40k p/w Andros Townsend - £39k p/w Erik Dier - £36k p/w Kieran Trippier - £35k p/w Jan Vertonghen - £32k p/w Danny Rose - £30k p/w Kevin Wimmer - £30k p/w Ben Davies - £30k p/w Ryan Mason - £20k p/w Alex Pritchard - £20k p/w Nabil Bentaleb - £16k p/w DeAndre Yedlin - £15k p/w Dele Alli - £10k p/w Tom Carroll - £10k p/w Cameron Carter-Vickers - £10k p/w Harry Winks - £10k p/w Josh Onomah - £5k p/w Milos Veljkovic - £5k p/w A few of those seem off to me, though: Vertonghen's wages were £40k p/w on last year's game so I doubt he took a wage cut, Kane and Bentaleb signed new deals over the summer and I suspect both are on higher wages (especially since, at the time, a weekly wage of between £25-30k was mooted for Bentaleb) while Pritchard's wages just seem wrong to me.
Oh dear Liverpool Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed his disappointment that his old club did not sign Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, saying: "He could have played at Anfield for 10 to 15 years.” The Daily Mirror reports that Liverpool came close to signing of Alli in April 2014 after agreeing a fee of around £3m with MK Dons and personal terms with the player. However, Liverpool’s transfer committee were not sure he represented good value for money and pulled the plug.
Gerrard was immensely complimentary about Alli. Probably didn't feel that the comparison was particularly fair, though: Played about three times as many games and scored 25 more goals, but most of them came in League 1.
According to the other day's Standard, we've been keeping tabs on Alli since the 2011-12 season. It's hard not to think that Alex Inglethorpe remembered this given he was our youth coach in the 2011-12 season, moved to Liverpool in the 2012-13 season, and became their U21 coach in the summer of 2014...
"He could have played at Klanfield for 10 to 15 years.” What player in their right mind would want the misery of this? I suppose footballers will do anything if they are paid enough.
Compare what spuds have won in the last 15yrs to what we've won in the last 15, then go back another 15 and check those against your annual underachievers, that's your answer lol
