Yep and I'd rather have Beneteke smashing it in from the edge of the box than Sterling missing yet again a foot from the goalline
I guess the rule must have changed but my first thought when the player kicked it was it didn't travel it's full circumference. What a howler by Mignolet though.
You seen/heard Klopp's response to a reporter taking to long to ask his question? "you take longer than Mignolet does to kick a ball"
That's not the question though - you say Benteke is a 1 in 2 striker. So what happens in the game when he doesn't score? Does he just become a liability and not offer the team anything? Does he create for anyone else? Surely you want a striker who can contribute when he doesn't score? Surely you want a player who helps those around him?
I don't think you'll find anyone claiming Benteke is the dogs bollox Jimmy. Most will know we need to improve on him given time. What people don't like is you ripping him to shreads when he's doing what he's paid to do AND the team are winning as a result too.
How can you say he didn't play poorly? Were You impressed with his poor runs into the box? Or are you merely happy that you saw him running? Are your expectations so low? I know Rodgers dos a great job at turning us into a mid table club but you no longer need to accept this low standard.
Who was ripping him into shreds? I gave my opinion on the game and thought he was poor and I said that. I said the same about Firmino as well.
