Just watching the India v SA test match. The SA sub fielder dived for the ball by the boundary - his trousers came down to just above his knees but when he got up, the first item of clothing he put back in its place was his sunglasses!
Interesting experiment proposed by the ECB to try and stop counties preparing pitches to suit their bowlers - giving the away side the choice of whether to bat or bowl first in Division 2 of the County Championship without the pre-match coin toss. I can't see it making much difference at the beginning and end of the season.
It's been fascinating reading and hearing the remisnicences of GB's journey in the Davis Cup this week. The last time they made the final in 1978 they were confronted by a young American who was making his debut in the tournament. I wonder what ever happened to John Mcenroe... It has been something of a meteoric rise from being beaten by Lithuania and ending up in the lowest group in 2010 - it would be a great story if they were able to beat Belgium this weekend.
I am not very into tennis - what standard are the Belgian players - they must be good to reach the final - but how good - they don't have an Andy Murray do they?
David Goffin is 16th in the world rakings but the rest rank between 80 and 300I think. If you take Murray and Goffin out then the two teams have a not dissimilar profile. Should be very interesting. I worry that having beaten France and Australia people may think this is a foregone conclusion - as you said, Belgium must be good to have made the final!
South Africa made a bit of a comeback themselves. Good job we aren't play there atm. Kyle Edmund is the other selection for the GB team alongside the Murrays. Never played a Davis Cup tie before but had good recent from on clay.
If Edmund can win his today........ but he must be the outsider... If not Andy will need to win his three......
....but not the 3rd, 4th or 5th sets! I'm sorry but I cannot summon up any enthusiasm whatsoever for any team that includes Murray and his obnoxious Mum.
