Evening Eire, Up to the owner, Evans can only suggest players, up to Cellino as to whether he funds it.
We don't do anything very well, there isn't a single player who really shines every week. Which player would we miss if left out, none?
None can play that role well though. Cook and Mowatt both on their day are good creative players, I feel like giving them defensive responsibilities is why they have been so much less effective this season, especially Mowatt. I personally think that Adeyemi is our only proper defensive midfielder and his opinion is that he isn't a defensive midfielder anyway. It also comes down to who's available in what position, if there are no decent strikers available then there is no point in getting someone in for the sake of it to sit on the bench. I'm genuinely shocked we didn't get a goalkeeper. Also, anyone who watches the youngsters think that Pearce is ready? Seems to score goals for fun at that level.
None are playing any role very well, don't get me wrong, hopefully he will transform our midfield and make a big difference, although I can't see it myself... Emergency loan window.... we have no reserve keeper, defence we are down to bare bones and already playing players out of position to cover, strikers (say no more) yet we sign a central midfield player... Just doesn't make sense to me
I believe it's down to having an owner who's lost interest. Could be a dangerous situation in January
Morning Ristac, was just thinking Bridcutt is a no win situation anyway. If, as with 90% of our loan signings he is crap he will just go back to Sunderland without fanfare. If, on the other hand he is fantastic and transforms us, at best we will be upper mid table and they will take him back anyway (or someone who is challenging will come in for him). Where does that leave us? At best just about safe for another year but how do the players left out for him for a couple of months react? Even without massive investment we could make a real fist of a promotion attempt if we took the likes of Bridcutt right at the start of summer for the whole season, involve the cream of our kids only and scout properly from the lower leagues (I see today 26 year old Dwight Gayle is being touted for another multi million pound transfer and Chelski are sniffing around Vardy) but we are Leeds so we take a 26 year old potentially excellent signing on the last day of the loan window for a few weeks while returning another potentially wonderful player having got nothing out of him. Better stop, I am starting to depress myself!! Happy Friday everyone
But we wouldn't get Bridcutt at start of summer. Sunderland want to see if he'll figure in plans. He's loaned for same reason we loan our lads, for match practice. Serious investment is only way forward
Bridcutt was excellent at this level, outstanding for Brighton. If we get that Bridcutt in you will all be very pleased as he is heads and shoulders above anyone we have had in middle for years.
