Some gash boyband from the 90's that a guy I knew was in. You must have heard "Stay Another Day", its on every Christmas, despite not having a single Christmas reference in it. There's a bell in it at the end, so its classed as a Christmas song (not quite sure how that works).
I left England in '92. I dont think I've ever heard that song. There are a lot of British Xmas songs that never play over here... Never hear Slade. "So here it is Merry Christmas..." for example. (although this year I've heard the song played for first time but it's not Slate... Its some cover... Sounds funny hearing someone else song it).

Plenty of crap music over here too. Yeah... If it did it's not mega-famous. I typically don't listen to much mainstream music so something has to be big and unavoidable before I hear it.

Heard a Mexican Christmas album the other day. Was normal Xmas songs but worth no singing just a Mexican sound.
I noticed there are some English artists that are well known in the US, that were more or less overlooked in their own country too. Wang Chung...relatively unknown here When in Rome....They did a song called the Promise which is one of my favorite tracks, on the end credits of Napolean Dynamite. They are from Birmingham, had a hit in the states, but no recognition here. Dido....was famous for years in the US, before she became known here after doing a track with Eminem, believe she still has a higher profile in the US than the UK.
