Phil - at least if Huw does get rid of GM, he will not need to ask the In-House Media to change what was said on ML's departure - we want to return to the Swansea Way...

Amazing really that GM has taken us so far off course in so many ways; lost our shape, lost our passing skills, lost our pace......

We are a pale shadow of what we once were ......

I was chatting to a mate at the game about the 'Swansea Way' and we both agreed that we haven't employed it for a long long time. For us it's characterised by solid possession stats that give us a platform for quick, and above all accurate pass and move that open up gaps for the run and the through ball. Every player has to be eager for the ball and create the space to get it. These days we're pedestrian, and have been for quite a while. Nobody seems to want the ball. We're shapeless and static whilst our defending is uncharacteristically shocking.

For me, that's not evincing a lack of quality in the players (as Dai is always saying) because I really believe this is the best squad we've ever had. It has to be down to failings in management and coaching. Monk has to pay the price - now.

And "lost" the admiration of many neutrals, who now constantly ask,"What has happened to Swansea?" That will be Monk's legacy.

Indeed we are now a hoofball team, devoid of any passing quality, and cannot keep the ball, and Monk's instructions to Fab to hoof it up to Eder and Gomis, demonstrates to me he is now clueless, is Eder the new Shechter by the way?…………<laugh>

I hope the boys are going to work theirs arses off this week to get back to some sort of cohesiveness towards a team effort that's gone missing for a few months.
This is just as much a team problem as it is a manager problem.
Regardless of injuries and a tough schedule , the players at least we're putting in a good effort for Laudrup up till the end , Monk is only responsible to a certain point , the players imo , are not putting in the effort needed to earn their keep .
Monk needs their help right now , and they better focus on the task at hand .
If you get a chance , watch the highlites of the 2 goals scored against us against Bournemouth .
Our positioning before the goals and reaction just before the goals is nothing short of pitiful , I'm sure Monk isn't teaching them that .
These are high priced professionals , not even close to earning their wages.
Monk is not their father or babysitters , get the lead out boys.
Monk should take some responsibility , but not even close to all .

I couldn't disagree more, Roof. I was at the game and for me, although 'lack of effort' has been thrown around it wasn't that. It seemed to me that the players were unsure of their roles, the shape they should employ both in and out of possession. We're turning into the type of hoofball team we used to despise. Or a 'give-it-to-Jeff' team when he came on. Lacking in ideas, lacking in confidence. All that has to be down to management imo.

I too , couldn't disagree more ...but I guess that's what this forum is about.
To me , the players are not paying attention as much as Monk being unable to get a grip on the problem.
I think Gomis , Montero , Siggy and Ferandez will come back into the line up.........not liking being benched for a game and much more focused

2-2 with some comical defending from both sides!

I don't see much comical defending from Liverpool since Klopp has arrived. Had BR still been there I could see us getting something from the game (or at least score)

We will get slaughtered the next two games, cannot see us getting any points before Christmas, I do think that if the score line is high against us this Saturday Monk will be sacked soon after. You’re only ever as good as your last result, but for Monk you can add a few more games to that. ..................<ok>

I'm more worried about Leicester than I am about Liverpool .
Leicester don't have the best players in the League by a long shot but to me they have the best team in the entire League.
The commitment every player puts in is inspiring.
Not sure if it's happened before but they have a very good chance to be a freshly promoted team , going to Champions League, an incredible achievement if accomplished.Oops , thought Leicester came up this season , still though .....

Leicester were in the PL last season so they are not newly promoted. We'll, not this season if that's what you meant.

Leicester haven't lost away in the PL this season - I've a feeling, regardless of what happens against Liverpool and irrespective of who the Manager will be, we will best them!

Well , they haven't played many of the "Big " teams yet , we have that going for us ...and law of average could kick in on their streak of road games but they sure are playing well.

You lot not having a good time of it means it's a good time to play you but you never know in the PL and a shock result is always around the corner if we're not on our game.

We're attacking and defending well, but Sakho (injury) and Lucas (suspended) means that we have 2 key players out. Under Klopp we will attack and press high up the pitch but also seem to be getting better at when to drop off and be compact.

After smashing City we really can't afford to slip up here.

I'm coming to see you fellas on boxing day the wifes side are all WBA so I'll be in with that rabble. Won't be doing the boing, boing bollox though. <laugh>

As we're sharing, Gonzo I have a confession. As a payback for dragging my mate to a Swans away game a while back he's now dragging me to a Liverpool game. Looks like it's Palace (at Palace) on 5th March so I'll be missing our home game v Norwich. Red doesn't suit me though.
