A far as I'm concerned when Cameron decided to cut the armed forces and scrap equipment, it was the time to keep our nose out of major conflict. It's one thing supporting France against terrorists, it's another to get involved and start taking side in major international conflict.
Can't see them getting too upset and spending a shed load on a war for just 1 guy. Besides, they've got another billion or so back home.
They're already a "Vital part of Europe" according to Obama. He just recognises that they're a strategically well placed base if the US ever need to flatten any 'specific' country. Israel, Cyprus, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi, UAE, Oman, India, Turkey, EU all on good terms with Barrack O'Bulldog... then the surrounding waters, all he's doing is surrounding one country, you can go look at a map if you don't know the one I'm referring to. Any country that won't play ball, which is situated on the inside of the Yank's wall, (Libya, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan) all being suppressed or obliterated. There's one target and right now that target appears to be funding terrorism, as a desperate throw of the dice.
One pilot rescued now. Yanks saying it was shot down over Syria. Lube up Turkey, you maybe about to recieve a good russian pounding of man love.
Not 100% on what happened with Assad to cause all the hate, but he probably is a **** who treats his people like ****. As was Saddam. But look how that turned out. In a way, the world was safer with Saddam in power, it's proven he didn't have WMD, and although a massive **** who did all sorts of atrocities to his people (especially the kurds) he kept everyone in check. Now, the void has been filled with IS, and the world is suffering. Putin prob sees this, coupled with some sweet ass treaty for oil or something, and that's why he's calling out the USA on this. Look at Iraq, the same is happening here. Keep Assad in power and control him. It's never a win win, but it's the lesser of 2 evils Sent from my SM-G928I using Tapatalk
