Watt has come out and spoken of his disappointment at the stories regarding him bring a bad influence.

I still think he's been failed somewhere.

In my eyes it's just a convenient excuse. We are well aware that Roland doesn't like paying for players that aren't playing, and we can't play all our strikers at once. Coincidentally he is also our highest earner out of all our strikers. Hmm

It was less than a year ago KM was boasting about how expensive he was and a step above what we'd had in a while.

I've seen so many ex pro's talk about how a good manager should be able to keep their players in check. Let's be honest, he hasn't had one in.... How many years?

Nail on head. The problem with our set-up is that you just don't know who makes decisions, but this post does strike a chord, and you can feel the presence of Roland's dead hand. Less than a year ago our CEO was trumpeting his arrival as proof of the success of Roland's set-up. I've been speculating and probably put 2+2=5, but whatever the truth is, it's a failure of either the scouting system or the management. Definitely a failure.

The (un)funniest thing was when she was questioned on under investment in the squad, her reply was "he didn't cost peanuts". You're right Katrien he didn't cost peanuts, he cost less, a big fat zero.

it is not just the press who are ignoring the structure of what is going on, surely the HMRc and their Belgian equivalents should be interested in an asset being acquired for 1million euro and sold for zero only to be sold on again for profit a year later. Remember it was the IRS that did for Capone not the FBI. it may be that it is all above board but the rotation of assets in this way must surely raise some eyebrows.

Has Watt got the intellect to be able to look at his own role here?

My son told me there is a story doing the rounds that he has fallen out big time with Stephen Henderson now. He has also now left 3 Clubs at the age of 21 in almost identical circumstances.

I don't know what's gone on behind the scenes, what I do know is that TW hasn't looked like scoring this season (same as our other strikers). The whole business should hopefully stoke up the protest on saturday.

I think any story coming out post Cardiff move has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

He's apparently fallen out with JBG (pre), euell, JJ, hendo and big mak (who dismissed rumors)

"Watt became an idiot at the training ground. Started kicking off with other players, Henderson the main one. It's common knowledge "

Watt has a reputation, it's easy to blame him for causing trouble even if he didn't because most will believe it. We will find out soon enough I'm sure.

Maybe he'll be the next "bitter ex-employee" to provide Cawley with a story when we play them at home?

Roland's policy seems to be to buy young players who are cheap and sell them for a profit. One reason why this policy is doomed to failure is the importance of a good manager to handle young players, especially if they are coming form abroad. I think Roland sees Charlton as a player farm, that's his vision. He's not going to spell that out in black and white, is he?

It seems any young foreign player that has had a cap for an obscure u16 national team is good enough.

Tony Watt playing in a confident team is an asset. The downturn in our teams' form has led to Tony to overtry, as a result his perfomances have not been as good as they can be.
Now that the teams' form seems to have improved, I would have liked for him to be given more game time.
If the 'loan' turns into a transfer? I will be very disappointed. But that has become a common feeling under this regime'

Tony Watt was critical of his own performances - that isn't a trait of someone who's a bad influence etc. He just needs to learn how to curb getting angry at himself and channel it in to positive performances.

If he can do that, not only will he go on to have a successful career, then he'd also make a good leader one day.
