None of the other suggestions on here are actual solutions because none of us are in charge.

And why isn't blaming Wenger and saying he should be replaced a solution anymore than saying that Flamini can do a job helping us challenge for title?

Going from a comment that Wenger is a moron who should be replaced to it being a life or death situation is exactly why Wenger-defenders are ridiculed by some.

Maybe we should go with a more defensive lineup? Have two midfielders playing a sharing DM role rather than one? I don't think the likes of Flamini will be able to do it all himself, so maybe a Flamini and Ramsey combo? But to do this, Wenger will have to employ a more defensive formation, which I don't think he would be happy with. But the priority is to grind out enough results until Christmas and grab a DM in the winter transfer window.

Being obtuse comes naturally to you doesn't it ? <laugh>

Also sacking Wenger isn't a solution is it ? All it would do is leave us managerless and coquelin would still be injured.

I remember a game last season where flamini was run ragged because nobody else was getting back to help him out. It meant that he was largely bypassed because the oppo just passed it around him. Not flamini's fault, he needed support. Although I think Ramsey is my better employed going forward, a Ramsey / Flamini combo could work, but we need Santi to pull his finger out and start doing what we all know he can.

It's a very narrow formation but maybe we could play sanchez and ozil behind Giroud (they can spread out and play across the pitch as they usually do), then have a bank of 3 in front of the defence - Santi, Flamini and one of Gibbs/Chambers/Gabriel who can support Flamini and they just need to hold position, tackle and pass the ball to Santi or back to the centre backs.

It will hugely affect the way we play, and attack. But then so will having a huge hole in the middle of the park and being unable to counter properly - which we've had recently without Coq.

Didn't that happen against Spurs this season as well?

From an outsiders perspective, I would say Ramsay and Chambers would be your best bet. Both are young and strong. Chambers could grow into the role like Dier has for us.

There's something about Chambers that makes me think that he will develop into a fine player, but at the moment, whenever he's played, his performances have been far too erratic.

I quite like the idea of him being a DM, but he needs to learn to be more composed with the ball at his feet and not rush into any tackles. He is still only 20 years old, but with the current injury crisis, we could really do with him stepping up right now! Even if it's not for the DM position, as Mertesacker has been a bit suspect at the back as well.

The issue for me is Wenger rarely changes tactics when we change personnel.

The idea thing for me would be to go...

    ---------------------Cech-----------------------
    Bellerin---Merts---Koscielney---Monreal
    ----------Carzorla-----Ramsey--------------
    ---------------------Ozil--------------------------
    ---Walcott-------Giroud--------Sanchez---
(Or Walcott up front and Oxo/Wellbeck on the right)

However in order to make this work we have to sit deeper. Without a holding player the whole midfield needs to sit a little deeper and play on the counter.

Cant see Wenger making those tactical changes though.(even though he did do it against United/ Bayern)

But it does have a holding midfielder? Did you mean Cazorla instead of Coquelin?

Good to see Flamini playing at DM tonight and having a really good game. He was pretty much first to every loose ball, pressed the oppo in the centre, made some good tackles and brought the ball forward well and supported the attacking players.

That's why he should be in there in Coquelin's absence <ok>
