away to Burnley. Less of a 50:50 more of a retaliatory tackle.

Kreuger said that most clubs take the big lads, but we will take little guys and give them time. This may be why we have several titches in our Academy...they don't always grow later. :)

Jay gives it a go, but at least he generally just stays quiet.

James Milner's up there too, of course.

Mind you, hadn`t Hesketh already been booked early in that game for an `enthusiastic` tackle ? Or is my memory playing tricks ?

Hesketh still seems slight(even against u21s) but he always impresses me at that level. Tricky and inventive. Perhaps if we get a generous FA Cup draw then there could be a role for him. The signing of Juanmi & Gaston's return would have pushed him down the pecking order too.

Seeing the Pahars video showed the potential of Seager. He is definitely a natural finisher in that mould. It's whether his overall game is strong enough at this point in time.

Thinking of potential January acquisitions and Austin is the one domestic name that comes to mind, but suspect some teams more desperate than us will go for him.

Been reading a few rumours Mane is going to be offered a new contract.....hope so and that he signs it.
And if he does I then believe Ron will sign a contract extension.

At a recent press conference, RK scoffed at speculation that we were looking to bring in a midfielder by saying that we are well populated in midfielder and that we were not interested in adding more to the squad in this position.
So I take no notice of midfield speculation...but get excited if I hear forwards or wineglass these MUST be true!!!!! LOL

I while back didn't Koeman say we wouldn't be doing any business in January. I'm not sure if J Rod having a relapse would have changed that though.

He's said at least twice. Les Reed has said it twice [remember the NO to taking-a-punt?]. We don't do stop-gap business unless it is absolutely forced on us. JayRod being injured won't be a big enough reason for Saints to change long term strategy.

If management stick to their guns in January, I guess it will mean a promotion for Seagar and/or Hesketh depending whether you class JRod as a forward or a winger
Great opportunity for one or both the lads and hope they take it

Most attacks for the u21 seem to go through Hesketh, the vision that our attack is sorely missing at times, the way he played against ajax would help as well. He will probably get alot of punishment but most of the best playmakers in the league are littleuns, pretty sure he has got used being kicked about. Pretty sure he plays wide to protect him, but his style is suited to the no10 role
