Why was the data out so early in the day?

 

I just saw the markets were starting well down and the business headline in The Guardian was about weak German economic data, not that bothered about the details, more interested in the charts.

 

Did you have an overnight position on?

 

Yes I trade on what I think will happen over days/weeks.

Yes you can either bet over small periods or long ones, I do long ones as I can't sit looking at charts at work.

 

Depending on how much the market is over extended at the open, you can make quite a bit at the open, so you don't need to look at charts

 

Closing the gap? I did a study on two years worth of 1 minute data and concluded that there is a small likelihood of winning above losing, about 52% chance of winning on average, up to 60% given certain conditions but then the spread bet brokers stick a 5 point spread on at open which kind of ****s that system.
