Error of judgement !!!!!!!!!!! FFS you try to make it sound like he was in complete control and just got it slightly wrong. Truth is it was a massive error that he would not normally make, the main reason people make those sorts of errors is due to panic. His panic was caused by the pressure, hence yet again a FORCED ERROR.
You're putting the emphasis on the wrong word. We all know it was an error. It was a 'forced' error because of his lack of clear and quick thinking. Unforced errors are made when there's no pressure. You saying he wasn't under pressure
I'd say all of it. Just for example - Coutinho 'too slow' to get in the box - he'd just made the pass to Fiminho then run like the clappers to get to the position just behind Mangala.
So he didn't get there in time for the pass, or was the pass too far ahead of him? (the picture above shows it was already past him when it reached Mangala) Which other bit?
Any bit you like. It was clearly not an unforced error- that's only a fair description when you have plenty of time. Skrtel's wayward pass that led to the City goal was a more deserved example. Mangala was under a lot of pressure to make an immediate clearance with no time to look around him and assess the situation. He should have done better, though- he's not the best, is he?
Sorry i have pushed it a bit Skirtle's error was not an OG though, it ended up with a very good goal by Aguero. (Mangala is total crap)
He was there for the pass but Mangala put himself in front of him, and it was an almost rabona goal from him. He also put his arm up signalling offside.
Look at the picture (if you didn't see the game), Mangala is to the right of Coutinho, the ball had already passed him by
You're saying the ball already passed Coutinho or Mangala by? Coutinho played the ball to Firmino who does a no look pass back to him and it's a perfect pass but Mangala has come in and taken it, had he not got himself in between, it was a Coutinho goal.
Coutinho, the ball was played in from the left, Coutinho is to the left of (and behind) Mangala therefore for the ball to reach Mangala it had already passed Coutinho.
Skrtel's wasn't an own goal, but it was an unforced error- which was the topic of discussion. To be as objective as I can be, the speed and fluidity of our attack put them under all sorts of pressure at the back, and without Kompany they're all over the place. For a team with their ambition and resources- City have always relied too much on out-gunning their opponents rather than being solid at the back. It works most of the time, but when it doesn't...... As for their goal: Aguero is a superb player- but is never going to rid himself of injury it seems.
Can't recall who it was but there was another Liverpool player behind him (Milner or Lallana I think) Mangala shouldn't have had to make that clearance had he correctly gone with his man initially. As for the actual own goal; he uses the wrong foot. It was naturally in his right yet he took another step and tried to use his left. I'm guessing he's left footed? For a £32m player, that is beyond a error, it's a bloody sackable offence
Think it all started with Astro going on about unforced OGs (unless that was another thread), that's how i got involved
