  2. @Tobes ...

Can't recall where we talked about it but I can remember discussing our pressing game with you previously. You said we couldn't sustain that level of performance for ninety minutes to which I agreed but pointed out that we don't press all the time, we pick and choose when to go and when to sit.

Reason for this post is, Shearer summed it up quite well on Saturday's MOTD. We drop back into our own third and wait for the opportunity to press. When one goes, the next goes and so forth. We either regain possession or drop back in if the opposition manage to play tehir way out of trouble.

Another good problem we now have is Ibe. Seems to have gotten over what was obviously a serious injury, and offers a whole lot more than simply a wing back. Really impressed with his intelligence, passing and head-up play on saturday, and that list bit is not at all common from lads of his age. He'll be in the starting XI by the end of the season, I hope.

Agreed, Ibe looked to have Sagna beat at will, long may Klopp have that effect on Ibeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
+ If Klopp can get the best out of the likes of Lalinho, would like to see what he can do with Markovic, talent is there, needs nurturing me thinks!

Have to agree. I don't rate the kid much, but have trust Klopp can actually get something out if him, or at least make him to Ibe standard.

Exactly - That's what Gegenpressing is about - it's not just about pressing high all the time. It's about winning the ball high but if not, then we have to get into position to prevent attacks when they bypass the initial press. Counterpressing.

Looking forward to Markovic returning - his style is what is needed to complete a trio behind the striker. We have Coutinho and Firmino who are the equivalent to Kagawa and Kuba, but Markovic can play the Reus role - play wide, fast and direct.

Pretty confident he'll be another one who will come on leaps and bounds under Klopp.
