How do you deal with them?
I'm ****ing sick of them. I've had six today all off Pakistani's, Indians, Philipino twats.
And then you get them ****ing recorded messages that you can't even tell to **** off.
I'm registered with the TCPS but some Chinky tart told me it's only legal to UK companies.

I've resorted to blowing a dog whistle down the phone, I hope the bastards go deaf.

I only ever get them off British people to be honest.

I politely tell them I'm not owed PPI and that I haven't been in a car accident, if they try and force the issue I tell them to **** off.

I like it when I get the calls saying my computer is running malicious code and they will help me get rid of it because you can wind them right up if you have the time. One chap with a sub continent accent was "helping" me while I was acting the dipstick. "Click on the start button" - "er where is that" etc. I kept him on for about 25 minutes until I got sick and told him I knew it was a scam. It was funny listening to him calling me all the names under the sun for wasting his time <laugh> He seemed to miss the point that he was trying to rob me - silly t**t

I don't get these types of phone calls, something to do with my phone number. Everybody in my area starts with a 2 whilst mine starts with a 7. Don't know why.....it was like that when I moved in. However when I used to get them I would just hang up without saying a word. I'm sure they would sooner me do that rather than shout abuse, and I don't have to waste energy by shouting.....everybodies happy! However what pisses me off, and it is something along similar lines as nuisance phone calls, is when I get charities knocking on my door at 8-9 o clock at night, in the pitch black. I feel a tinge of guilt getting myself worked up, after all it is a charity, but to knock on doors at that time of night should be illegal. They could end up giving some old dear a heart attack. Sometimes the same charity, but a different person, knocks about 2 or 3 times a night. By the end of it they are wanting your bank details! I once offered them a few quid in cash, a one off payment, but oh no, they wanted to take monthly contributions from me. I'm sure if they just walked around shaking a plastic box full of copper the would have more success, sympathy and make more money.

There's an app that tells you when malicious numbers are calling you, for smart phones. My wife has got it.

    It's called True Caller.

For landlines, dunno, don't own a house phone.

Just got a BT phone for this. The caller has to say their name and press the # key. That then rings your phone and you hear the name you gave, so you can decide whether to take the call. Bit of a palaver, but it blocks the nuisance calls alright as none of them bother to go through it all.

Frigging boilers, solar panels, and yes loft insulation and we live in a council house. We have a sticker on our front door saying no cold callers here and that works.

I pass it to the kids & they compete for the record. Currently 41min by telling them to hold on while they look for a computor & ask how to turn it on...lol

if I get calls for home improvements the normally ask to spoke to the 'home owner' I tell them wait I go get him and just just carry on with what I was doing and leave them waitin.
Annoying thing 70% of the calls I get on my landline are nuisance calls , mates call on my mobile

I bought one of these about 6 months ago, after getting sick of getting at least one useless call every day, We've not had a single nuisance call since. Brilliant. The only thing I'd say against them is that the contacts in one of the chargers have broken already, so they're maybe not the best quality they could be.

It should be simple enough for the Government to ban cold calling, all the culprits would be easy to identify and it could be stopped overnight if the will was there.
