Gary Monk looks on the brink. Shame. I think it's pretty harsh. Wonder who they would bring in? Moyes Looks like he could be in contention, also, Newcastle would be a good fit for him. The perfect fit for him though I think, would be Moyes at Celtic. As they have really plummeted under their manager. I'm guessing they would bring in a foreign manager I've never heard of.
I don't know where the Swans would go from Monk if they sack him. They have the "Swansea way" to play and if they have no internal candidate then who will fit that system? Not Moyes! Laudrup came in and did well so I'd guess they would look to the continent again. Bah!
I think that Celtic have really plummeted only in Europe - I think they now have three titles on the trot and are pretty comfortably sat at the top of the SPL. If anything the loss of Rangers as a credible opposition has meant that they can be pretty mediocre and still walk away with two or three trophies a season. Playing against League 1 opposition week in week out in front of two men and a dog is not attractive to the sort of players they need to attract to improve them and then when they do unearth a gem they can be picked off by Bournemouth who are now wealthier than Celtic despite having a home gate which would not be out of place in the SPL or League 1. Realistically if clubs the size of Norwich are able to poach their top scorers (as we did with Hooper and Saints took Wanyama and Boric and Van Dijk, Swans took Park) then Celtic have no hope in competing even in the Europa league. It is the dreadful state of Scottish football killing their better clubs and this is exacerbated by the huge disparity in funding between the EPL and SPL.
Come on Palace.Play the way we know you can with pace and counter down the wings, and you should give Sunderland another smashing. A nice 3/4-0 win would punch the wind out of them, same with Villa's weekend result. Was a good thing for us, they looked bright against Man City. Good they got taken back down to earth with a massive bump. These new manager can't have an immediate impact, otherwise we are in trouble.
Lafferty in the starting 11 for under 21s against ManUre under 21s at Carrow Road tonight. I might have gone if it hadn't been so cold!!!! MUST be his chance to impress AN!!!
I'm not entirely sure quite what he's done wrong? They're 14th, still comfortably safe from relegation and he's stuck to their style of football. I'm sure the board would like to be pushing for the Europa league, but I suspect the only team to have spent less in the summer was us! WBA and Watford are probably the only clubs currently above them who you'd expect them to be stronger than, and perhaps Palace.
The U21 game tonight was fairly poor to be honest, no width from either side and all too congested in the middle. Lafferty didn't see much of the ball but a lovely through ball over the top was superbly controlled on the left hand corner of the box and hit superbly back across the 'keeper into the top corner - great strike. Hurt his groin later and came off. Loza scored from another through ball and again, finished very well. Dorrans, Whittaker and Rudd also played but didn't shine to be honest, against which was basically a Man Ure U18 side.
Crikey - this ManUre fan wants Van Gaal to go - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0395mzy And some of the players aren't happy either.
They are so dull to watch though aren't they. It's like Chris Hughton style football, but with world class players.
Jack Grealish has been suspended by Villa for being seen clubbing after a recent 0 - 4 defeat. However, help is at hand, a prominent ex-footballer has offered to take him under his wing and get him on the right road..... http://metro.co.uk/2015/11/26/arsen...-aston-villa-youngster-jack-grealish-5527602/
May well get to see Snodgrass v Chris Martin tomorrow - Hull-Derby on sky. Poor sod, season-ending injury soon after he left Norwich to join Hull. I wish him well http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/11/2...ge-on-twitter-ahead-of-hull-comeback-bennet/?
