Your point relates how to what is being discussed? The higher level games you referred to earlier were for a team that was relegated. It's irrelevant to the discussion. He had numerous MOM performances at Wigan, winning games against, amongst others, Norwich & Reading. This season he has played & won against 'boro. He has proven experience against top of the table Championship teams & has played more Championship games this year than all but one of our squad. That is what the discussion relates to. If you have anything to add that proves otherwise then please add it.
Just because one player isn't deemed good enough to make the step up from the U21's, it doesn't mean none of them can. Townsend is better than Conference level and hopefully when he's looking for a new club in the summer, a better team will come in for him, he's just not good enough for a Championship team with aspirations of being a Premier League one.
Apparently Maguire's out, we're a dirty team and they're going to win 3-0... http://dcfcfans.uk/topic/20816-on-to-hull-fri/?page=1
After reading that ****, don't think I'll bother going ,arrogant pricks hope we smash the **** out off them.
I think we might we trouble naming seven subs on Friday, I expect the bench to be Jak, Taylor, Hayden, Akpom, Aluko and Bruce. Unless Lenihan is fit again, that only leaves Luer and Snodgrass as options for the final place and both are playing for the U21's today.
Going on the Forest game I watched I think we will beat them fairly easily, Hudds back on the bench please Brucey and Hayden back. Diame should be the attack minded midfielder. Clucas will be left back I reckon so another very good reason to leave Hudds out
I said we should be building the team around young players like him, and hopefully Bruce will continue to do so as it is clearly the right thing to do. Maguire is a rare commodity, a defender who can play the ball out of defence, who reads the game well, tackles and has all the attributes. I don't even think he is that slow. Sometimes I despair of how some of our fans judge players based on their first few performances
Sorry for clogging up this thread but I strongly believe we should build the team around young players, and that people trying to pick on said young players really should do one in my opinion, especially the older ones who should know better!
If you'd said young players like Clucas then I would probably have agreed with you - but you didn't, you said young players like Maguire. I don't think he's good enough material to merit being included in your proposition.
This is a forum, a place where City fans give their opinions on City players, if people don't think a player is good enough, they're obviously going to say so. In this instance, it's not even about whether he's good enough currently, it's just about whether he could step it up a level.
Move Clucas back for Robbo, Maloney into the Cluvas role, Hernandez back in for Akpom. Davies in for Dawson. Huddlestone plays. end of.
Maguire has stepped it up though that's the thing. Waggy didn't read my post properly as he seemed to suggest I was asking the team to be set up around Maguire instead of all the other young lads including Harry, so really if he can misunderstand something simple like that then that doesn't bode well for his other opinions.
Dont like to say anything with certainty, but, in this case I think you have got it right. Thats what will happen. Given all the cover in the HDM this morning its obvious that Maloney will play so that leads to him taking Clucas's place with the latter going to left back. And regardless whether some on this forum like it or not Huddlestone will keep his place.
