He certainly does - can't argue against that. But if he wants to have a future here, he needs to add more to his game.

But enough of Milner - don't we all love Klopp? What an amazing influence this guy has had on the team. Players are enjoying themselves and we finally have some structure and shape - apart from the usual annoying individual mistakes, I can't remember Man City having that many chances?

Great to see Firmino have a MOTM performance IMO. Led the attack, his movement was excellent and the assist for Coutinho's goal was beautiful. Needs to improve his composure cus he missed two quality chances but I'm sure that'll come (based off of this performances In Germany).

Now imagine adding Sturridge to the attack! Can't wait

Jurgen Klopp has more away wins versus the 'Top 4' teams in six weeks than Brendan Rodgers had in three years.

as much as i didnt have much time for brendan in the end, no need to keep bashing him all the time.

he brought half the players dont forget, yes he might not know how to utilize them as well as klopp has, but he did buy them, so credit where its due.

also i find if you get the points versus top 4 teams you normally **** up against the easy ones.

The counter attacking style works better away from home. You look far more of threat when the opposition trys to get on the front foot. When sides come to Anfield and play in a similar manner, you don't look anywhere near as effective.

If he can find a way of playing at Anfield to breakdown sides that are happy to sit in, then you could well put in a challenge for the top 4.

Milner is a solid squad player and important for certain matches, but I think Henderson can do the same job and offer more

Agree - we have Swansea at home next, so that'll tell us more about the team than the city game.

I think Lucas or Milner will be the first ones dropped for Henderson. Hendo certainly offers more than Milner.

Maybe, but lets not forget we've been hindered by a lack of fit strikers in our games at Anfield, so far.

  11. Yep, Milner will be the that makes way imo. Good to have the options.

Milner played very well yesterday, he did exactly what was needed and allowed the front three to do their thing. But thats the only good game he's had for us so far.

Backatcha with the love-in, as I saw the highlights from Goodison and that was top-notch football. yes, it was Villa (we struggled to finish them off, in all honesty) but both sides are gaining confidence. I said after our loss to palace not to panic: it was nowhere near as bad as their victory in Gerrard's last Anfield game. As you say, we've a long way to go before we crack solid defences, but our trajectory is definitely upwards. We'll know after our next six games in the league this year.

We barely broke a sweat yesterday, against the worst Villa side I've seen at Goodison in 35 years mate.

They were truly awful. We played well within ourselves but scored some great team goals with moments of genuine quality.

We've both got some winnable games coming up before Christmas, and I think both clubs could be knocking on the door by the year end.

I didn't see all of your game yesterday, but what I did see I thought Milner was excellent. Not getting the lack of love he's getting on here. Every side needs a Milner type player, he gives everything and is a model pro. The fact that he wears the armband under Klopp tells you he feels the same.

  15. He's just not been accepted. Sure. he's been poor but so was just about everyone else under Brod. Lallana and Lovren are the same although its starting to look like Adam's turned it around since people are finally starting to give him some much deserved credit.

I genuinely believe that we wouldn't have won had Milner not played yesterday (unless we could replace him with Hendo of course). He did the uncredited stuff such as working hard and getting back, he made a couple of very important challenges and didn't stop the entire game. He got forward and supported the attack at time too but I will admit that his offensive game was brilliant, that wasn't why he was in the side though.

As a much as Milner has been akward to watch he has a goal and 4 assists. He is productive. He just needs to play simpler passes when in our half and leave the risky passes in the final third.

Jimmy has been right about quality in front of him because Firmino has some brilliant off the ball running. At no time was he offside and because of that Citeh were stretched. It allowed Couts to pick him out with ease. Lallana needs to observe Firminos runs and we have a brilliant quartet.

The front 3 were excellent - fluid, interchanging, stretching the defence. It was the first in a while we actually saw someone run in behind the defence. Can't wait for Sturridge to return and both Firmino and Coutinho will play those trademark through balls.

Another interesting fact - Liverpool had 13 Opta-defined clear-cut chances across their first 12 PL games this season.

They had 3 in the first half against City.

Jürgen: "It was very good. It was not perfect because we can defend better but when you win 4-1 against #MCFC it's very good."

Great performance, scored 4, battered City on their own turf and Klopp's still knows we can improve. Love it!

Man City podcaster David Mooney on Citytalk:

"Honestly, I got asked to do a combined XI the other day... I don't really see many of the Liverpool team getting into a combined XI other than potentially Nathaniel Clyne and for me Philippe Coutinho."

"Having nicked Sterling from you guys, and having Navas coming into form on the other side, De Bruyne in the middle is filling his boots because he's got so much pace on either side of him."

[On likely abuse for Sterling] "That instagram post he put up with Fabian Delph where they just took the mickey out of both Liverpool and Aston Villa fans respectively with the whole snakes on a plane thing, you just think well maybe he's revelling in it, maybe it will actually drive him on and cause him to have one of his best games."

[On defending counter attacks] "Mangala's got a bit of pace though to cover him"

[Is there anything that does worry you about the Liverpool side?] "Erm... to be brutally honest with you, not really."

I would also like to point out that we scored from a corner yesterday. Not directly, but still.
342 corners, 1 goal. Good return.
