Gutted. Thought we were poor in the first half, but much better in the second. Really thought we'd rescued a point against a very ordinary Man Utd. Jurado should not have started and I keep saying it...our bench is poor. On the plus side, it was hilarious to see the mighty Manchester United time wasting against little Watford with 10 minutes still on the clock.
Jurado is still the strange decision for me, can´t see what he brings to be honest. rushed back from injury, then hauled off at HT, we did better second half and all. Pissed off about the result, but, what can you do, I hope TD9 doesn´t have a cat. Guess we´ll let him off mind, he hasn´t done too badly recently!
Gave them a good game 2nd half after a sloppy 1st. Ake made a difference coming on. Gutting to lose late on as we did.
Rubbish first half, very decent second half. Excellent substitution. Jurado is a luxury we cannot afford, I get what QSF is trying to do and it has worked in the past with him.... but I would rather Ramage than him. For my money the difference between the teams was the form, on the day, of Mata and Watson. Our boy fluffed his lines. I thought that manure were grateful to get away with a point. Three was f*****g criminal. (My ** btw)
So that is 3 home defeats from 3 games on TV. Better beat Norwich then before the Liverpool and City games!
Was not around yesterday thanks to Sky, so could only go on the written word until MOTD. When we scored I heard the commentator, Jonathan Pearce say that it was richly deserved on the second half performance and what a difference when Aké came on. This raises the question about Jurado. I have seen very little from him to believe he has a role at present. Any thoughts? The other question also comes from what I read. Was the atmosphere flat at the Vic yesterday as suggested by some that were there? If so, why?
Early kick-off maybe didn't help? Jurado seems to be a Flores favourite but then he was taken off at half time so maybe even the latter had seen enough!
One thing I find encouraging is that we do not seem out of place in the premiership this time around. Sure we may yet struggle - there are an awful lot of good, rich, experienced teams but in previous year's in the Prem we simply were outclassed completely.
Atmosphere was flat for most of the game... came alive in the last 15 minutes or so. Mind you i was in the Upper Rous Mistakenly I had bought a ticket in the wrong stand. My mate and his son sit in the SEJ stand i had painstakingly managed to get a seat not far from them I thought....... wrong stand... Left home at 6.00 am. got back at 8.00 pm Ake really added something. We were unlucky in a way with our chances but you can always say that. Main issue for me was our passing which was woeful. Just looking in the Telegraph sports section ( My mum's paper of choice) and we have virtually the worst passing afternoon of any team in the prem yesterday. But we were not that bad ......
Couldn't agree more - we seem to be losing games due to an extra bit of class or the odd clanger or bit of bad luck. We are not being outclassed very often.
We have played 10 of the 12 teams above us and only 3 of the 7 below us these are the teams we must beat
Yes as TD said after the game we must get points off the teams in the bottom half...... and we have proven we can....
Iwould rather it was this way round than we had already played more lower sides. Mind you it makes them all 6 pointers
Was at the game yesterday. Disappointed that we seemed outclassed in 1st half by a quick, mobile flexible but not very spectacular team - hardly the Man U that the world seems to think it is. Particularly their touch in nicking the ball away from us.The initial selection seemed ineffective. I think quique hopes that Jurado will give us unexpected openings, instead of just workmanlike positions, which doesn't give us goal chances against defences who make less mistakes than in Championship. But as Man U played with great energy Jurado was a passenger. The 2nd half was excellent - shows quique CAN change things, we CAN come back and improve rather than fall away. 1-1 would have been very fair result - in fact De Gea had to be brilliant, whereas Gomez only had to be very good! Their timewasting, until they conceded, was rather pathetic. If they are top of the league, then we could be. We matched them over the 90 quite comfortably. Ok, we need to get points from next 3 games. My main point is, if we had been in Prem for a few seasons, we would have no anxieties at all on the basis of yesterday and the matches so far. It's only because the task seemed so enormous at the beginning, as portrayed by the meejah, (and the prize for staying up this year is so huge) that we (the supporters) tend to believe their lazy journalism. My journey home was made somewhat worse by a Man U muppet telling me all about WFC - from a position of total ignorance. Then he had the cheek to complain about their injuries - and they spent £250m was it ? - in last 3 years. For me it's a brilliant season - and it WILL continue to be so.
