Yeah we've seen what happens when you're allowed to "to be more free about what you can say", how'd that work out again?

You don't own intellectual property of what you post here so it's open for anyone to edit and re-post anything you say. It's an open forum, that's the point.

Surely if Edge should banned for racism, then you should be too? :p But, on a serious note, you're right, Edge should be banned. Theres no need for racist or homophobic abuse on the forum. It doesnt make the site appealing at all. Its something Mick and other mods do need to address.

Talking of that thread Tash, you never did reply to a point raised where you were asked to show where you got your information that "MA is selling our best players and taking the money". That's probably liabalous or slanderous (whichever), you may want to get Mick to take it down before MA's lawyers are on your case <laugh>

  6. I still haven't gone back to the comments section of that article, but if it's about the one that Donkey Toon asked, i don't have document proof that Ashley kept the money from all the transfers.

The players have been sold, and even without the transfer money, he still makes mountains off TV, adverts and ticket sales, and at least a portion of that should be spent on new players.

It either went straight to him and he's kept it, or he payed off all the bills/expenses/fees with most of it, to save himself from handing over the cash from his own pocket.

There is no excuse in it mate. He has the means to invest in new players, but he doesn't.

  7. Those two occurences were mistakes, you can't say that it is the norm for me. I apologized for them and served a ban for the racist comment i made. 1 comment i got banned. Edge continuesly does it and doesn't care who he offends, and he gets away with it constantly without a ban or even a warning.

  8. Btw, i'm not getting into an argument about Mike Ashley now, i'm more concerned in what's happened to Ben Arfa.

That was quite a while ago and he was punished. He has been a very decent poster imo ever since.

Would you go so far then to say there isn't any evidence of MA pocketing money from the club because he hasn't then? As there is proof that he hasn't. He has already invested several 100 million pounds in the club and is investing more, any idea how much undersoil heating at the training ground costs? Several million I'd have thought.

Surely this means this is a better run board than most and we should applaud Leazes & AG for their stirling work? And it was more than one comment wasn't it? You have calmed down and I applaud that but lets face it it wasn't that long ago when you were acting like a total mentalist.

Last I checked Mike Ashley owned Newcastle United and he is allowed to pocket any money the club makes from profit.

Tash, There is a difference between the money staying in NUFC and Mike Ashley's pocket. As far as I am aware MA has not physically taken any money out of NUFC yet, so therefore he has not actually pocketed anything. In fact he has had to pump £millions into the club.

  15. This is kind of what i get frustrated about, when talking about this subject. He's payed for some expenses like under soil heating, agent fees and wages ect, and i know that must cost a lot, but what exacty is he using to pay those fees?

The transfer money is either not being invested, and Ashley kept it for himself, or it's been used to pay for other expenses, in which case Ashley tries to look like he has invested cash into the club, when really he's paying off fees with the money he got from the players, so he doesn't suffer a personal financial loss. This will lead to lack of funds for players.

He should pay for fees, expenses ect out of his own pocket, or what's left over after we've bought players. After we've bought suitable replacements, not before.

If he uses half of the Carroll cash to buy a striker and a few more players, and uses the rest to pay off fees/expenses, i won't care, because that would be a smart decision and would help us financially, but spending all the transfer cash on other things isn't going to help us succeed. We need quality replacements for the players we're letting go.

Last season, Hughton got 3.5m for Tiote, and made a few free signings/loans, and was told that if he wanted any more cash, he'd have to sell players. This season, we've signed 3 free players, sold a player and bought a player for around the same amount. In my opinion, Pardew has been told that he wont be getting anything, and will need to sell to buy, the same as Hughton was told this time last season.

I don;t have document proof of this, but the money can't have just disappeared, it's either sitting in Ashley's bank account, or been used on other things, when part of it should be invested in new quality! In a way Ashley is investing, but he should be investing money for new quality. He could give us money from his own pocket, be he chooses not to. I personally don;t believe that all the money the club brings in is need elsewhere and therefore there's nothing to spend on new players.

We going down a dangerous road relying on miracles.

    Hardly a total mentalist.

And i applaud leazes and AG. I'm not criticizing them at all. I'm criticizing Mick for not banning some of the twats on the general chat forum who constantly get away with some really nasty ****. Edge has called me, and i quote "a gay paki" on several occasions, and i told Syd this and he didn't do anything, he just closed the thread and said he could do nothing...

I sighed when I read this line... your just not getting what people are saying at all are you?

People are still far to hung up on this line, and there was something else you had said about MA having to pay out of HIS OWN personal money, what other type of business uses the personal finance of its owner... it baffles me some of the **** people come out with when it comes to spending this £35 million. I wish he had of spent it all on those 4 that we had signed so this **** topic would stop rearing its head at every opportunity.

Don't get me wrong I can see where your coming from, and I'm with most people where I would like to see some depth added to the squad, but don't necessarily agree that it needs to be "bought" as such. I'm quite happy to get more of the same quality players brought in on free's or christ even loans if it was to keep us ticking over for the season. It's just starting to wear me down where a lot of topics / posts (not just on this forum mind but other NUFC related sites I look at). People seem so blinkered by hatred for Ashely, that they are failing to see the woods from the trees when it comes to this money and how its being spent, and the fact that MA must somehow be taking the money out of the club from player sales etc...

I'm no fan of him for the record, and don't pretend to know how much it costs to run a club. But the way people are going on about the money and how they think it should / would be spent is ridiculous, I'm sure they think the behind the scenes expenses (the non-players / staff) are funded purely on smiles and happiness. Again I have no idea of the total running costs of club so I'm not going to speculate, but there's been plenty of examples where clubs are running into 80-90% of their turnover on wages of players alone which means their running into the red through the other operations of the club. I'm relatively happy with the current position we are in, in terms of finances. I wish we would see another couple of additions to the squad but again there is still plenty of time in the window. So I'm just going to sit tight and be content (for the time being).
