v satisfying to see he's still the same shoddy player he was with us

Great result but the backline still needs massive work ... the fact that we defend higher up the pitch now effectively from the frontman back with the pressing style is covering over the big probs that still exist at CB especially now Sakho is out, we're vulnerable there and will keep conceding ****ty goals because of it and other teams will know that.

that'll only work if Klopp keeps leaving his cap at home

  3. Ignoring the fact that he's a prick and concentrating purely on his game here...

I find Sterling a strange one. When playing for us I never expected that much, he was one of our better players but I was never convinced he would tear a team apart. However, seeing him line-up against us is quite daunting because we also know he can hurt teams when on form.

Great game and great performance too. Hope we can now kick on from this <ok>

As many have said we now need to transfer this form to our home games. The system suits away games, especially when teams attack us. At home this system will not work as it is based on counterattack and won't work if teams come and park the bus to get one point.

    My ratings:

Migs: 7 Did what he had to do, ut City didn't really test him.

Cline: 7 When City did pressurise in the 1st half they were triangling around him, but he was exposed. otherwise sound.

Moreno: 7 Defensively the best he's been in a red shirt, except for the last half hour or so, maybe.

Lovren: 7 Well he won every ball in the air, never tried anything too fancy on the ground. Happy when Aguero went off.

Skrtel: 8 Would have been 9 but for daft clearance that let Agureo in.

Can: 8 What he lacks in pace he makes up for in sheer class and vision. Was Alonso this good at this age?

Lucas: 8 Another who would have had 9 but for a ludicrous and needless booking.

Milner: 8 Not his biggest fan, but he didn't stop from start to finish, and apart from THAT backpass (luckily it was to Lil Rim) he was faultless.

Lallana: 8 One or two over extravagant flicks, but was everywhere and made space with great close control when needed.

Coutinho: 9 Would have been 10 if he'd played the full game. As good as it gets when he's on form. Kicked to **** in the second.

Firminho: 8 Suarez-like harrying and pressing, coupled with tremendous skill. Could have got 4 or 5 (and maybe should have).

Subs: Ibe: 8 Apart from one cul-de-sac run I thought he was fab. Off went Coutinho and, City, expecting a break, got the shock of their life. They just had no answer. Getting back to his best, but let's not just think of this kid as a winger any more. he's special.

Benteke: 6 If and when we get everyone up-and-running I expect he'll be the most expensive plan B in the league. Not a totally bad thing (how we could have done with one a couple of seasons ago when we were challenging for the league), but we need another Studge (without plazzy legs) in January. BERAHINO, FFS!

Team: 9 Sometimes the sum is more than the individual parts.

Jurgen: 9 They still need work on set-pieces. A better team (or City on a normal day) could have had 2 back from second half set pieces.Otherwise, brill.

Image of the day, to paraphrase Barry Davies, seeing Lil Rim trudging off - "Look at his face, just look at his face!".

    sweet.

  6. Since Klopp arrived...

    - Drew 0-0 away to Spurs
    - Drew 1-1 at home to R.Kazan
    - Drew 1-1 at home to Southampton
    - Won 1-0 at home to Bournemouth
    - Won 3-1 away to Chelsea
    - Won 1-0 away to R.Kazan

    - Lost 2-1 at home to Palace
    - Won 4-1 away to Man City

...we've got to be pretty happy with that start haven't we...?

Only works if your players pick up more medals than them at the end of it all. Every team loses a game now and then so I wouldn't think that matters to the individual players career so much :emoticon-0100-smile

We could always use the £7 million you gave us for him last time :)

Tbh, I don't want him back at our club, but with the mess we are in, beggars can't be choosers.
