I think today's game was the final nail in the coffin for a lot of fans. We are now terrible. Imagine your worse run of games under BR the last 12 months. We are 10 times worse atm.

    Man City 1-4 Liverpool

"It was a fake game," says Manuel Pellegrini, clearly unhappy and agitated. He confirms that if he did it again he would pick the same team.

Well him and McClaren seem to be in direct competition to be the lowest placed English manager this season <grr>

    couple of thoughts

    1. great movement and energy . plus ability, from Couts Firm and lala
2.still worried about the defence particularly when Sakho not there
    3. How nice it is to be able to listen to our manager without cringing - please note i was never that against BR though he had to go in the end but his press conferences/interviews were cringingly like watching an unshown episode of Office
4.lets hope the confidence carries thru to our home games
5.Since Jimmy hasn't posted i'm assuming he has passes on after he exploded in a totally humungous orgasm of joy at Couts . Firm and Klopp's brilliant tactics. Though his last thought was "Skrtel is still a **** defender"

Pellegrini always looks stoned to me. Its legal in Chile, I reckon he gets it shipped in.

How has he got this job?

What a result, and more importantly what a performance!!! <diva>

Can't fault anyone today.. Defence looked solid from the first minute to the last and only real moment of concerns were Skrtel trying to pick a pass with a minute to go until half time instead of clearing his line... and Milner's dodgy backpass (although he at least picked out Sterling who doesn't know how to shoot).

We were helped by Pellegrini's selecgtion of a 2 man midfield which included Toure <laugh>

Can & Lucas bossed it in the first half, Can unlucky to be booked for a brilliant tackle as well but the front 3, Lallana, Cout & Firmino were exceptional.

Lallana has got a lot of stick this season but today he was outstanding and only overshadowed by the other two because of their goals. His closing down, passing, control were top class.

Heck, even Lovren looked good today! Was commanding in the air, still looks vulnerable when pulled out wide and is 1v1 though.

2nd Half we let City have the ball but looked comfortable and they barely threatened.

Cout & Firmino's link up play was a joy to watch. Talk about two players on the same wavelength the movement and picking a pass was brilliant and had a couple of passes been 1/2 a second earlier, then could have had 2 more goals as well.

Only criticism was Firmino's finishing. He scored a tap in from an open goal... but the real chances he had, 2 1v1's on his left foot from a slight angle and just hit them right at Hart. Neville was right, he just had to lift it and it's a goal... he really should have had at least 2 today but hopefully now he's got his first he can kick on get a few more.

Overall, best performance of the season by far <ok>

It was a great result and performance. What pleased me most was the threat we carried on the counter throughout the 90 mins, which is a trait we've never really shown since Suarez left.

Not getting carried away though - although we could have scored 6, we could have easily conceded a few against a hungrier team than City. I have hope under Klopp that we can beat anyone again, which therefore gives me hope in the cup competitions.

The only thing I'm still worried about is our ability to break down teams that invite us on to them, as this is the reason we seem to drop points at home so often

  18. Firmino is doing now what I wanted to see (from an incoming forward) happen when Suarez left. He's not the most clinical but the movement, work ethic and link up play creates the chances. If you create enough chances then goals will come. Lambert, Balotelli, Benteke, Origi, etc were never going to be that player.

I think Mig made 1 save which came from Milner's **** passback... other than that, didn't think City really threatened. They had the ball around the box a bit but no real proper chances
