I think if it was 'THAT' Serious he would have had immediate treatment there in the USA, the fact he is being flown home hopefully indicates it's not, they want to get it checked then have him work with the physios and do some light training till the boys get back. No point keeping him there if he can't play

True, if it was really bad they'd make him stay in hospital in America and he'd probably have surgery. Twisted ankle would hurt a lot, but not keep him out too long hopefully.

  4. Apparently it was from a late challenge from one of their players.

Yeah, tackling like that in a friendly is ridiculous.

I dont think it can be that serious. Obviously, if it was he'd have immediate surgery. And besides, if it was that serious, I dont think he'd eveen be able to fly so. Its just a precaution.

I am nursing a torn ankle ligament. I went on holiday 2 weeks after doing it but was told had I been flying the next day, the swelling and pressure would have been to intense and wouldn't be allowed to fly.

I think for a long haul flight, he wouldn't be allowed had it been very serious. He would have to wait a week.

A slight sprain/twist and maybe a bit of bruising.

Is it just me, or does anyone not really care about the Arsenal game? I just want him fit for the week after but without a good pre-season, I fear these injuries are going to keep happening.

It was the same leg which is bound to be vulnerable. I think he will miss Leeds, and will play against Fiorentina. Just wish we knew the extent.

I'm nursing a broken ankle and a fractured shin but I hope I'm not going to lose my head.

This seems like the most logical explantion on here. Anything serious and he'd never be allowed to fly home that quickly.

On a side note, I'm pretty pissed off as it was a bloody stupid idea to start him in our first two pre-season friendlies within 5 days of one another inc. a transatlantic flight. Can't believe the coaching staff are doing this. Surely one of them picked up a duty free brain cell on the way out to the states. He should have got at most 30 mins or so at the end of our first few friendlies. This '100% fit' talk is a pile of crap. He's not 100% fit and should be eased back. It was blatantly obvious he was going to pick up injuries one way or another. And however serious or minor it is he should not be starting v Arsenal, simply not ready.

This, especially after some of the mackems are already pissing themselves at his injury.
    Hope he scores the winner.

That was a straight red both feet off ground studs showing, late, lunge from behind everything from that tackle was bad, to me he meant to hurt Ben Arfa.
