Sadly we have all seen Hernandez on his return from internationals, it isn`t so much the playing, its the travelling involved, having just returned a short while ago from Mexico I have had the ill effects of jet lag and how your body clock is all at sea, took me two to three days to get back to something like normal, so for me sensible to rest him, given his past performances. As you say all about opinions.
Unfortunately you don't get bonus points for being better. Also we didn't start quick enough (a regular problem) and they got some pressure that led to the goal.
WATCH: BRISTOL CITY 1-1 HULL Highlights from Ashton Gate as Bristol City were held by leaders Hull to a 1-1 draw. Bloody video won't load,
I thought Moses was starting to look off the pace towards the end, making mistakes and not threatening.
I thought Akpoms hold up play was awful and he missed a great chance, we were the better team a point away from home is decent but with our better chances it should have been three, how ever its not to be its another point lets hope for a win Friday night shame Dawson and Robertson are missing
I think you hit the nail on the head there without realising it by saying Livermore and Clucas were worse with Huddlestone in the team
Bruce must know this yet he still carries on with it, can only think Hayden is injured or sat on Brownies naughty step with the ghost of Craig ***an
Just got back from the game. Staying over at a friend's in Bristol. Today reminded me very much of the Sheff Weds game after the last international break. We conceded a stupid goal and seemed really lethargic at times in the first half and woke up a bit more in the second half. We finished strongly but just didn't take our chances. Without wanting to make excuses for a blow par performance, international breaks always seem to disrupt our flow and we didn't look as clinical as we did against Boro. You can never grumble at a point away from home, especially after trailing, and even if we aren't playing great it's a good sign if we can still pick up point. Frustrating game, though not the end of the world. With regards to selection, it was sensible to rest Hernandez, though not sure why Akpom was up front on his own as it clearly wasn't working. Pretty much everyone fell below the standards they have set in recent weeks but we saw after our last below par performance how they all kicked on.
Overall very happy with our point. Hull looked sharper than we did. It's hard to be winning at 70+ minutes and then concede though. You will be up there definitely at the end of the season.
I thought we were good for three points, but we lacked the killer instinct everywhere except Maloney, who was confidently clinical - a wonderful touch by Diamé. The starting eleven was fine, in the circumstances it was difficult to see an option certain to be better. I think Bruce needed to play Hudds to convince himself that it wasn't just circumstances conspiring to make him look misplaced in our starting elevens. All season, and a good part of last, I have thought Hudds is just not suited to our style of play. Hoddle was right, his football is too good for our blistering, swashbuckling style (you know what I mean).
The wind and sun in the first half certainly didn't help, buy overall we created enough chances to win it but just didn't take them. Anyhow a point away is always acceptable and move on. Dawson and Robertson missing for the next game is a blow, and it looks as if Dawson will be out for a month or so.
I'm raising the issue of people's judgement. The impartial TV company covering the league feel we played well which means some of us are probably being a little too hard on our team.
I agree We seem to have a lot on here that constantly look at the game through Premier league glasses. We where by far the better team today
3 at the back Friday! We need to use our strengths which is an abundance of midfielders & TWO up front!
