Reminds me of hitting a seven iron into a gale at Royal Lytham St Annes. Hit it beautifully, watched with disbelief and paced seventy yards to the ball. Vin
Are you certain about that? There might be, but it may well be that mathematics is immutable, otherwise it's not mathematics. To say that there will be places where mathematics is fluid is bold indeed. Vin
Sorry to twist the subject, but only this PM did I show someone The Voorman Problem. A cute 15 minute film where Belgium does a disappearing act. Belgium gets quite a bad press in life. Douglas Adams suggests that it is the worst swear word in existence, and only the loose tongued and desperate [preferably incorporating two heads] would utter the exclamation.
Belated maybe, but I saw this wonderful and touching image that the Irish Examiner used as a Tribute to Jonah Lomu
Already posted this and the Pahars one....I have a stalker. I agree about this video...I love the beatific smile the boy gives his dad.
http://news.sky.com/story/1591688/moment-nurse-realised-he-was-giving-bomber-cpr A French nurse was giving a man CPR in Paris when he realised that he was a bomber. The bomb had not gone off properly and was still dangerous...had a lucky escape. Ironic that a decent man was trying to help a man with no pity. It reminded me of the London bombings where bus passengers tried to help a man who fell over when his bomb caught fire but failed to go off.
http://news.sky.com/story/1591635/russia-sends-france-puppy-in-solidarity Russia send an Alsatian pup to France as a replacement for Diesel as a symbol of solidarity with the French police. A small thing but an encouraging gesture.
Those of us nauseated by the slightest whiff of marmite are taking great comfort in the news today that there is a bumper crop of sprouts for Christmas. Bubble and squeak for Boxing Day breakfast made with sprouts is pure heaven.
Nothing like a common enemy to bring people together. All politicians and a well known football manager are fully aware of this fact and exploit it to the full.
I love sprouts too and they make far better bubble and squeak than cabbage. Apparently they have discovered a gene which decides whether you like sprouts or not...to some people, sprouts are incredibly bitter.
Sprouts should be peeled and sauted with either bacon or pancetta. Bubble and squeak the next day with a dash of marmite would be good
I hate the smell of mangoes....because to me they smell of cats' pee. Can't have them in a fruit salad...not because of their taste, but I can't get past the smell. May be the same as sprouts to some people.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/britains-drink-driving-capital-revealed-6866025 Crewe come out on top of drink/drive list...however 4 out of the top for drink driving are Welsh towns. TBH I would have expected Scotland to be highest. Amazingly 1/5 drivers in their 30s interviewed thought they were safe to drive after 6-7 glasses of beer or wine. People do have to beware wine...glasses are often bigger and wine varies in strength...so best not to try and cut it fine. Be safe this Christmas.
I have always wondered if it is just experience and personal taste or if it is down to how foods taste different to different people. They have proved this with sprouts (as I said before)...bitter to some, slightly sweeter to others.
